I said, turning my head to glare at him and still Eric didn't answer. "I'm talking to you, Beta!" I shouted, sitting up on the bed, my chains clinking loudly. "Your fated mate was just insulted, called a whore, and handed over to a demon wolf to be used as a breeding animal and you just stood there. You didn't even blink. Does your loyalty to Vergil completely wipe out your balls, or were you always this pathetic?" Eric took a slow, deep breath and finally turned his head, his dark eyes locking with mine.

In case you have not seen it yet, Eric's story is called Rejecting the Prince's Mate. It is part-way finished and proving to have lots of ups and downs, as you would expect ;) Hope you enjoy the story as much as I am enjoying writing it. Here is a brief summary of the story

And when he’s angry, there’s always a consequence. The lively clamor of the pack filled the courtyard as plates were loaded, and Aristide kept the cocktails flowing. Erika, despite her unease, felt herself pulled into the camaraderie. The stories shared around the table were a mix of outrageous, thrilling, and heartfelt, and for a moment, the weight of Diego’s anger lifted slightly from her chest.

Then he told me about another brother he had, but he had been killed by a band of rogues. Just hearing the pain in his voice made my heart ache for him.

Now, his wolf was ripped away from him, he became human, and then we drained his life force entirely. That’s what people like him deserve,” she told him simply.

Without really thinking, I stood and made my way over. The flames crackled between us, the heat brushing against my skin as I sat down across from him. "You’re not much of a storyteller like Evelyn, are you?" I said softly, hoping to break the silence. Eric’s lips tugged into a faint smirk. "I don't have stories like hers." I tilted my head. "Everyone has a story." For a moment, he didn’t answer. His gaze stayed locked on the fire, watching the embers rise and vanish into the night sky.

Vitali and Eric have marked each other, but Vitali says they haven’t mated yet, he’s a bit nervous, which is perfectly understandable. There’s no rush so the two are taking their time to just enjoy each other and get to know one another. Either way, Eric has been integrated into our little group as if he’s always been here, and I know that’s made Vitali incredibly happy.
