The ground beneath our paws thudded as we ran, the scent of pine and damp earth filling our sensitive noses. As we entered the dense foliage, we felt the claws of our pursuers closing in. Our wolves exchanged a glance, determination flickering in our eyes. We needed a plan. A hidden cave provided the shelter we sought. Blood dripped from our fur as we huddled in the darkness of the cave, our laboured breaths echoing against the cool walls. Wounded and battered, we knew we couldn't keep up the fight much longer. We listened intently, hoping to hear the distant roar of engines and the thud of our parents' rescue team. But for now, the only sounds were the distant howls of our pursuers.

“Everest has what of Talon?” Like I summoned him, that bitter pinewood scent floods my nostrils. I turn, shoulders heaving with rage. “Videos, Parker,” Everest says smugly. He holds up his phone and shows me a heartbreaking one of Talon slumped on the ground, people standing around and laughing at him. “I’d say I have maybe 100? 150? I could send them to you if you—” My fist cracks across his skull. Everest falls to the grass, his nose bleeding faster than the referee can blow his whistle.

The animal was yet to rise on its feet, and I knew it would take a lot of space. Willy pinched his chin as he thought. "I cannot confirm now if he's a wolf or a Siberian breed, but we put nothing in the papers for now. This is the first time I saw this massive animal in this town.
