"What about these saplings?" I asked, pointing to the little row of trees in the road.
"Silver birch trees," she said. "The leaves, bark, and branches are used in various medicines. Sometimes they're considered a symbol of protection, too." Lucky handed the bouquet to Estelle, then stepped toward the trees to take a closer look.
"What the hell does this mean?" Gabe asked. "Who breaks in and leaves a gift?"
