Open Marriage: It Takes Two To Tango

Open Marriage: It Takes Two To Tango

"You only miss the sun when it starts to snow." Zara Hall was a lover girl, who only had eyes for Scott even though he treated her like trash. After they got married according to their grandmothers' wishes, Zara saw hell at the hands of Scott. He not only refused to show her off to the world as his wife, but also blamed her for his parents' death. To muddy the waters even further, Cora—another childhood friend of theirs—stuck to him like glue. Zara did all she could to win Scott's heart. One day, he asked her for an open marriage. She agreed because she loved him. However, he got angry after he saw her with another man. One thing led to another and Zara had no choice but to ask for a divorce. Surprisingly, Scott was unwilling to let her go. The messy battle soon became messier when she falls pregnant for him. Zara is torn between the devil and the deep blue sea as she works her way to the top to restore her family's lost glory. Meanwhile, Scott realizes that he can't live without her. Cora continued to pose a threat to their happiness. She pulled all the stops just to break them apart, using her child as a pawn. Later, it's discovered that the accident that occurred several years ago was orchestrated. Zara continued to shield her baby from the whole drama, but there was only little she could do as Scott tries everything to win her back. "I'm sorry for not valuing you, Zee. Please, just give me a second chance," he said on his knees in public. Would Zara get back with him for her son's sake? Who's behind their parents' murder? Wanna find out what exactly the future holds for them?

I am pretty picky with books, but I am liking this one a lot so far. I wonder why it hasn’t gotten more reviews, gems, or attention. The only thing I can think of is that the title is throwing everyone off… I read the last chapter first (yes, I’m that person) and I don’t think it is really about…

I finished the book and I loved it! I did expect a bit more about Scott's company endeavours but other than that is was sure entertaining. I almost didn't read the book because of the title especially since it has nothing to do with it. Fortunately I did. Thank you author, I appreciate a nice book.

She Doesn’t Beg, She Destroys

She Doesn’t Beg, She Destroys

After six years by Archie Valez’s side, everything changed when his uncle died—and Archie took over the family legacy… and with it, the responsibility of caring for his “young” aunt, Betty Cruz, whose age was practically the same as Archie’s. Still, whatever Betty wanted, Archie delivered. I just never thought it would include a baby. Betty said she wanted a baby with the Valez bloodline. And with the uncle gone, Archie was the only one left to do the job. So he gave her that, too. “Just wait a little longer,” he would say to me, “Sabrina. As soon as she’s pregnant.” What started as once a month turned into once a week… Then it became a nightly routine. Of almost eight months that we lived in New York, Archie went to Betty over a hundred times. And she finally got pregnant. Shortly after, the Valez family announced that Archie would be marrying Betty. “Mommy,” my daughter asked softly, climbing onto the couch beside me. Elly—our Elly. My Elly. The daughter Archie never had time for. “Is someone getting married?” I held her close and kissed her hair. “Yes, sweetheart. Daddy’s finally marrying the love of his life.” Elly blinked at the screen. “But what about us?” I smiled. “We’re going home, baby,” I whispered in her ear. Archie forgot that I was Sabrina Marcellus. And the Marcellus women didn’t beg for rings. And certainly not love after betrayal.

Not Every Sleeping Beauty Wakes Up

Not Every Sleeping Beauty Wakes Up

Four days after my death, my four-year-old daughter finally sensed that something was terribly wrong. The fridge door slammed into her forehead when she tried to get a snack. Normally, I would've been there in a heartbeat—arms open, kisses ready, whispering, "You're okay, sweetheart, Mommy's here." But this time, I just lay on the bed, cold and still. She didn't understand. She thought the sweet treat would make me respond. So she held the final piece of chocolate up to my mouth. "Here, Mommy. Have some chocolate..." But I didn't even blink. She climbed into my arms, clutching my clothes tightly. "Mommy... Mommy, wake up..." She waited for me to stroke her hair, to tell her that everything was going to be fine. There was only silence. Completely lost and scared, she found my phone. "Daddy, why is Mommy still sleeping?" she asked, her voice filled with desperation. In response, Oliver sent a photo of himself having Christmas Eve dinner with his childhood sweetheart. His voice was icy cold when he replied, "She's just sleeping, not dead. It's Christmas Eve, and I'm busy. Tell her to stop playing games and come apologize when she's done sulking." Then he hung up. But when the truth finally hit Oliver—when the coroner's report came, when the police knocked on his door right in the middle of his laughter, when he realized I'd been lying dead for four days while he toasted—he broke.
