The Things We Don't Say
My stupidity hit me again.
Water and oil never mix.
Yet, I couldn’t. I couldn’t share those memories.
“I couldn’t purchase my flight tickets,” I said instead, pulling away from her slowly. “I slept off, Anna. I missed the window and now…”
“Shhh,” she whispered, pulling me to her again. The driver leaned out of the window.
“Are y’all still going or what?”
“Give us a minute, please?” Anna replied.
“No,” I muttered, pulling away again and getting on my feet. “I’m fine. We can’t keep him waiting.”
