Gamma Everly snaps. The witch raises a disbelieving eyebrow and tilts her head to one side. The antlers on her veil tilt with her, and there, illuminated by the moon against a backdrop of dark woods, she truly looks like something dreadful. Like some otherworldly creature, this awful monster is far beyond the realm of anything a werewolf or Lycan would be capable of. She’s an unnatural, evil force. Something dreadful. Something cursed and wretched. I can’t lose Gamma Everly to the witch’s attack. Doing my best to push through the thick pillowy clouds it feels like my brain has been stuffed with, I reach out to Gamma Everly over the mind link, voice heavy with urgency.
