Their gaze locked.
Those eyes—clouded with pain, fear, and fury—seemed to burn holes into Ilda, silently screaming everything her weak voice couldn’t. Her fingers trembled slightly against the sheets, as though trying to lift, to fight back, to speak.
But she couldn’t.
“Surprised to see me?” Ilda sneered, tilting her head. “Oh, how poetic… the ever-righteous Olivia, lying helpless in bed. It’s tragic really. And here you thought you were strong enough to stand against me.”
