Fairy Law Novels & Stories

“But I have heard of it. In the hearth stories, all things happen in threes.” “Yes, but there’s a reason for that,” he replied. “Hearth stories have picked up a Fae habit without understanding it. We have the law, or rule, of three. Our magic often involves three...” “Three fisheyes,” I observed. “Yes,” he sounded amused. “Many of the brethren follow the law of three because it is so ingrained in the Fae culture. We consider something said three times to be binding, three gifts, three challenges, three chances...” he pressed his face into my hair. “Remember, anything important involves threes, Siorin.”

Daryl nodded, “I’m hoping it’s alright to tell you both… Daff hasn’t told the professor she’s a fairy yet so I didn’t want to bother her… She’s been sent a wolf, she said. I haven’t seen it bu-,” Drew was nodding, eyes lit up with excitement, “Daryl, Fairies can do that! If they’ve raised a particular animal, they can command it to help them. The commands usually empower the creatures with enhanced abilities. They can get better navigation skills, better hearing or smelling. They can sometimes, even get them better strength or speed.” Daryl gaped and was glad to see Abel looked surprised too. It was good to know that not all Half-Myths knew everything else about other Mythological Creatures.

Soniva Castle, Summer Court Capital, Faerie Fawn It was getting close to dinner time when the nymph trio came and took me from the book that Tilly brought me. Not that I had really read any of it. My mind was a mess with everything going on and the fact that Fallon had still not come to me and let me know how the council meeting went. He couldn't possibly still be in meetings. If I had not been stuck in one of his comfy tees and boxer shorts, I would have searched the castle for him, but I didn't have it in me to go roaming in his underwear through a castle full of fae.

Hayden looked away for a moment and could only recall the time Lady Nixie, Queen Nivei's lady-in-waiting, approached him and asked if he could meet with Queen Nivei. He remembered Lady Nixie giving him a file with Leath Mayfair's information. It had everything from her birthday, favourite colour, her first day out of Silvenia, but it didn't say that Leath was not allowed to go back to Silvenia. Hayden thought that it was a simple task to make a rebelling kid go back but now is a different story.

"Because it's not just a story, my bairn. Not all fairy tales are made up. This one happens to be true." Before I can get another question in, her voice changes into the special singsong lilt reserved for bedtime stories. A long, long time ago, back when there were fairies in every forest, and princes and princesses ruled over vast kingdoms while dragons slept beneath the earth, there lived an old witch in a cave by the sea.

King Aolis. “I would love to visit the fairy tale lands,” Marlene says. “The fae lands, love,” Reyes gently corrects her. “Are they not the same?” she asks, looking from Reyes to Aolis. “Not exactly. A fairy tale land is a fake world that humans created for books. The fae land has many fae creatures but it is ruled by the elves,” Aolis explains. “But, there are leprechauns, giants, and unicorns, right?” she asks excitedly.

he murmured in her ear. She looked at his reflection in the mirror. Her eyes wide, her lips parted as she sucked in a breath. He brushed the coils of her hair over her shoulder and out of the way as he zipped up the back of her dress. The thousands of tiny sequins on the dress reminded him of the luminescent scales of a mermaid's fins. With her auburn hair in long beautiful waves, Felicity could have been the tragic heroine in Hans Christian Andersen's tale. What was it about this woman that had him dwelling on fairy-tale fantasies?

The Fairy was shocked seeing that change that she flew back a couple of inches in fear. 'Why... is she smiling now? S-s-scary!' "But of course, we'll help, right, Ray?" Alameida cheerfully said. "In exchange, I demand the right for half-born like me to be treated equally as Elven People too!" The Fairy went speechless. She didn't get this woman's way of thinking at all. First, she was scary, but then she agreed cheerfully while demanding the impossible. "H-how could we agree to that...?"

She stood up, walked towards the window behind her, and reflected on the past. "The sacrifices of the Walden women trying to keep ownership come with a great price. What most woman wants are love and family. Walden women choose a different path. We never marry. Female firstborn entitlement of the castle ends when she marries. She loses everything after marriage." The strange Walden law is foolish, but it helps his plan.
