Cain murmurs half asleep, but Aeron is already there, pulling the covers back, showing what my body already knew, but my mind is only just cottoning onto. It’s wet, soaking between my legs. My waters have broke. I look across at Aeron in shock, but he just smiles back. “You’re in labour.” “But it’s too soon.” I gasp. Her body collided with the Lycanite’s, and they crashed through the wall, out into the battlefield. Outside, the Lunar Pack was burning. Bodies lay scattered. Warriors—wolves—families. The Lycanites had attacked in the dead of night, without warning. Their goal was clear: kill the child born under the eclipse. Kill the Moon Goddess reborn. Zane had told her. “It’s because she’s the Light they fear. She’s the prophecy.” Snow. Their daughter. Now, Lyra stood bloodied and panting, her wolf form staggering. The Lycanite she fought was dead—but two more approached.

He smiled a cruel, twisted smile as he felt the distinct echo of the Moon Goddess' blessing awakening across the continent. I stretched my legs and a moan escaped my lips due to how comfortable it felt. I immediately covered my mouth in embarrassment and peeked at Sebastian who soon released a loud chuckle, making me blush in embarrassment. Taking a good look at his features, I realized he was one handsome fellow but he was nothing like the Greek god who beat me to this state. Sebastian was like the other version of Devon, hmm, I like the feel of his n...Sh*t, nevermind. Sebastian had a friendly temperament making anyone feel comfortable with him on first encounter. The sun disappeared and the sky turned darker, indicating an imminent storm. Suddenly the trees shook violently and from the shadows, a large group of strange creatures emerged. Layla watched in horror as their number kept increasing and soon, they were surrounded. How many were they? A thousand? Two thousand? "Who are they?",Layla whispered to Cade, but it was Xavier that answered her. "The devil's legion",he replied grimly. "There is no escaping it. A war will break out in the human world" This was the legion Layla had seen in Tartarus. The devils had managed to catch up with them in a matter of minutes.

She kept her face neutral while inwardly bridling at the way he spoke of the Lightning Bird as ‘it’. “How do we get there?” asked Ilyria, “to Vatra, I mean.” “I don’t know,” said Thassa. “Could we join a merchant caravan?” she wondered, though she had little reason to trust merchants. “This place cannot be reached by caravan,” said Thassa, “it exists outside of our world.” “Like Zarmej,” she breathed. Perhaps Thassa did not know all there was to know of the Lightning Bird. Was it even possible that she knew more than him? She shook her head. It was impossible that she, a nineteen year old girl could know more than a seasoned guardian.
