Belongs To Him
His lips brushed against my forehead, his breath warm despite the chill of the night.
“I love you,” he whispered, his voice cracking under the weight of his fear and helplessness.
As his words wrapped around me like a lifeline, I felt the darkness creeping in, pulling me under.
The pain, the fear, the blood, it all started to fade. I wanted to stay awake, to hold on to him and our future, but I was too tired. Too broken.
“I love you,” he said again, his voice was the last thing I heard before everything went black.
