“You know this isn’t going to be easy, right? We don’t even know where to start. The bar’s CCTV was broken. The staff probably don’t even remember her clearly. And you… you barely remember anything.” I ran a hand through my hair, closing my eyes. The memory was sharp, searing, and maddening. Her hands… her lips… the way she moved against me as if she had owned me before we even met. My wolf snarled in frustration. We remember. We never forget. We claim.

Silence filled the chamber. No one moved. No one breathed. Nova's mind struggled to process the Shadow Fang's words. You were their lock. She looked at Kieran. His face had gone pale. Not with fear. With realization. Fragments of memories seemed to flash through his eyes, memories buried beneath centuries of imprisonment. His breathing grew uneven. "I remember..." His voice was barely audible. The lead Shadow Fang smiled, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth. "Yes." Another memory surfaced.

"Why is the case so close to you?" "The girls ..." he muttered, clenching his fists so that his nails dug into his flesh. "Do you still remember Maria?" His friend nodded wordlessly. Maria was a fluke and the beginning of Joshua's investigation. 10 months earlier Joshua was tired. Last night he worked the night shift and today, on Sunday, no, it was now Sunday, one of his buddies had celebrated his birthday. Actually Josh hadn't planned to stay there that long, but the time had somehow passed and now he was wandering around the edge of the harbor in the middle of the night looking for the stupid cat from his friend's neighbor. People might think she is thinking of something, but in fact, she was not at all. Her head feels like there is an empty and vast hollow spot on it and she could only be drowned in this darkness. After the war a year ago, after she found out what happened that day, she could no longer think of how she could continue living her life. *FLASHBACK* “Is this all you got? Naster Fangs? Aren’t you the prideful product of science and nature?” Nicholas taunted. “Show me your true color murderer.” Naster could feel his blood boil in anger as he screamed in pain, his body burning, and soon lost his sanity as the soul of countless wolves took over his body.

**** ~ Flashback ~ Before heading to the library, Evelina and Rissa are on their way to the opposite end of the class to the library. Evelina walks and she stops from her path, she just remembers that there was something she forgot. Seeing Evelina's reaction stop, Rissa asks her. "Eve, what's wrong? Is there anything you left in the classroom?" "No, I forgot something. That actually, I wanted to return the book in the library," she replied.

Scarlet commanded, in a very casual tone. "What? You didn't think we would actually want to eat with you guys right? See I had a long day, I don't want to reek of blood tonight so…." They scrambled out before she finished her sentence, what had bothered them the most wasn't death but the torture before it. It is rumored Alicia could use the "Sage of the spirit", an extremely brutal stone-like fruit rarely ever found which could cause unimaginable pain and intense hallucinations when used on a vampire.

“You can. You choose not to.” The others had already started singing, but Memory held his gaze for a second, a challenge in his brown eyes she couldn’t ignore. She glared at him, shaking her head slightly. Something told her he would have to discover she was right for himself. With a deep breath, she opened her mouth, joining in on the chorus. What came out sounded like a crackling old record to her, a sick frog after ingesting too much mud from the bottom of the pond, an alley cat stuck in a garbage can filled with spoiled tuna. She kept her voice down so no one else could hear and waited for him to tell her to stop.

“How dare you! After saving your life, this is how you repay me?!” I coughed repeatedly, clawing at his grip, struggling for air. He was going demonic. I could feel the pure rage radiating from him. He raised his hand and sharp claws. Memories flashed before my eyes as my chest heaved intensely. This is it. I’m going to die, but why am I afraid? As if I’m not truly ready to give up?
