The Kingdom of Stardust exists in a realm untouched by mortal hands, where the boundaries between dreams and reality blur. It is a place where stars descend from the heavens, alighting upon the landscape and bathing everything in a mystical glow. The kingdom is a breathtaking spectacle, perpetually shimmering in hues of silver and purple, as if touched by the cosmic hand of destiny.

It is a small valley just outside the city and is protected from sight by nearby mountains. Taking the pencil tip, I trace the glowing lines that only I can see. It looks a bit like one of those tracing toys that kids get with the gears and the circles, a spirograph, making a hollow web that frames the spot where I just put the circle. I pick up a book with a massive dragon painted across the cover and slowly rotate it in my hands. Fantasy covers go hard. The artwork is ridiculous in the best way. Every scale on the dragon has been illustrated with obsessive detail. Blue melting into green, green into purple, purple streaked with gold. The colors swirl like magic itself spilled across the page. It’s so beautiful it almost hurts to look at. My lips wobble slightly. “I like him so much,” I whisper.

I praise Him most of all for turning the evil situation that had been hell pressed to do worse than just simply kill me, into a life made so full with happiness that I could never have asked for as much as He had given to me. Frustrated yet determined, I traced my fingers over the intricate illustrations of fantastical creatures that adorned the margins of the pages. Griffins, unicorns, and dragons stared back at me
