Chapter 4

Warning⚠⚠: this chapter is a bit emotional

My mom has been behaving very strange lately, receiving strange calls and crying after receiving those calls.

I have tried asking her what it was but as usual, she doesn't open up.

"mom I am fade up with all these shit, can you stop crying and tell me what the hell is wrong with you" I said

"language", she said

Oops!!

 even in a bad condition  she still care about my language. so funny I said sarcastically 

"If you really want me to mind my language which I may not, then you stop hiding things from me" I dared

"okay fine. sit down", she said

"Start talking mom, I very curious", I said

she said, "I know that you have been listening to my phone calls and you have been observing me lately....."

"Yes I have, and so?" I replied 

"If you are really curious I think you shouldn't interrupt me again", she said

"fine!", I replied 

"The person that kept calling is your dad", she said

"You should think of a convincing lie mom. how old do you think I am? 3!!?" I said

"I am very serious dear", she said

WHAT!!!!

"Yes, your dad", she said

"How, I don't seem to understand. After almost sixteen years I finally found out that I have a dad. Are you seriously joking with me", I said

"Nope", she said while looking away

" I am not meeting him and I don't want to see him" I said

"You have no choice", she said

"I do have a choice mom", I challenge

"you are almost sixteen Lucy, I  think the best thing for you now is to have a father figure in your life" she said

" I will be sixteen in few months time mom and I know what I want. For sixteen years I had no one to call dad and then suddenly a man from no where appears and you think I am desperate to call someone dad. I have lived sixteen years of my life without a father and I don't think I need a father now", I said while crying

"You don't understand dear", she said

" understand what mom, do you know how it feels to watch other fathers come to pick up their children after school, do you know how it feels to watch other kids and their father play, do you even know how it feels to be insulted in school for not having a father and yet you stand here to tell me that having him in my life now when I don't need him is the best for me", I said

"I am so sorry for hiding things from you, I just didn't know how to tell you, I am so sorry but you have to let him in into your life", she said

"Are you doing this for me or for yourself because I don't seem to understand anyway, I can't and I won't let me into my life and that's final mom" I said

" you know what is also final", she said

" he is coming to live with us here whether you approve or not' she said

" why are you doing this mom, why do you need this man so desperately. we were living comfortably and happy and then now it seems you can't leave thought this man", I said

"You don't understand" she said

"understand what?, understand the fact that you never told me who he was till now or understand the fact that you have been lying to me?" I said

"we are not doing these now. And in case you have forgotten, I am your mother and the oldest here so I decide what is best for you and you have no say to it", she said

" You know, most times, I doubt that you really care for me", I said while standing up and leaving the room and I didn't forget to bang the door incase you are wondering.
