Ashley shut her eyes tightly, trying to process what just happened. She opened her eyes and staring at her in the face was Claire, Alex's girlfriend. Fury burned her face bright red. "Who the hell do you think you are to lay your filthy hand on me?"Ashley yelled, her chest moving upward and downward repeatedly as she breathed heavily. "And who the f**king hell do you think you are to talk back at him? Do you know who he is?" Claire snapped.

There’s a glow about her, just like Arya, and a small bump has started to show through her clothes. “Hey, Ash!” I call from the couch. On the TV, Phoebe has started singing Smelly Cat, and Ashley sings along. “Phoebe was always my favorite!” she says, settling onto the couch beside me. “How’s the little man this morning?”

All of them flickered through me, and the power drank deep from each emotion they stirred. I dropped to my knees with a gasp, eyes wide. And still, Ash didn’t let go. “Feel that?” he whispered, crouching beside me. “That’s the real you. Not some little wolf in heat. Not a mate-marked pawn. Not a curse.” He leaned in, brushing his lips against my temple. “That,” he said, “is a goddess being born.”

It was embarrassing to be exposed by the person she liked without mercy. "He's always so indifferent to me, never once smiled at me seriously..." He could hear Ashly say: "Thank God, I am getting back in shape. I don't want Alex to hate me; I want to look beautiful for my Alpha." Jim read and my ears tingled, the familiarity was rubbing off on me and there was a lump in my throat. “Aww, that has to be the most romantic thing ever,” Ashley swooned and cupped her cheeks with her palms dreamingly. “ I would want my prince charming to write something like this for me, and even make a painting of me, i would sure to frame it and hang it somewhere i’ll see-” she halted and a low groan escaped her lips. I followed her line of sight and found the reason for her complaint, Asher had taken one of her napkins and was using them to launch stones outside.

Suddenly, both Alarick and I hear a voice inside and all around us. ‘It’s okay, Alarick. My name is Asha, and I am your mate!
