VOLKOV’S OBSESSION
As I walked toward my apartment later that afternoon, my mind was still in that marble mansion.
“Well, look who decided to show up.”
I froze, Allison was standing by the alleyway near my building, and Jackson was at her side. She looked at my messy hair and the tired circles under my eyes with a cruel smirk.
"You smell like a dumpster, Parker," she taunted, stepping into my path. "Where have you been? Probably rolling around with some lowlife."
"Leave me alone, Alison," I said, trying to push past her.
She wasn't having it. She grabbed my shoulder, her nails digging in, and shoved me hard. I tripped, falling toward a pile of overflowing trash bags at the edge of the sidewalk.
