“What is it?” Daniel slowly turned his phone toward us. “A file.” Sebastian stepped closer. “From who?” Daniel's expression became serious. “I don't know.” I looked at the screen. Beneath the name of the mysterious file were two words that immediately made my heart stop. PROJECT EVE.

I shrugged it off as unimportant and locked the door. While keeping the files in the rack, I saw two folders that were marked 'Project' and 'Mark'. They looked similar to each other. Maybe they're brothers? I took both down and placed them next to the other folders. They didn't make much sense to me, but I put them back where they belonged. Once all of the files were safe in their places, I returned to my desk at Tyler's cabin.

He worked quietly for a few minutes, then froze. “Cove…” Eli said slowly. “What?” Eli turned the screen slightly. “There are files in here. Encrypted ones. But the file names… they all have my name in them. ‘Eli Reyes Protocol.’ ‘Reyes Contingency.’ ‘Eli Long-term.’ What the hell is this?” Cove stood up fast.

I said, holding out my arms. They ran to me, yelling. Like always, they hit me so hard I fell backward, but I didn’t mind. I let them hide their faces on my shoulders, and we cried together. Later that night, I looked through the files on the flash drive Danielgave me. It took me three hours and two glasses of wine to find the file I needed. It had a simple name: AFK. Aiden Frances King. I double clicked the file, drank the last of my wine, and said a small prayer. I didn’t know what I was about to find but the only thing certain was that I knew I wasn’t ready for it.

In drawer number two from the top, Ferdi's eyes caught a file that he thought was similar to the characteristics mentioned by Adelia yesterday. "Is this the file?" he murmured, looking at the folder. The file folder was blue in color with a cover that displayed a row of text. Although Ferdi did not understand the discussion in the file, he believed that this was the file Adelia was referring to. Three names marched across the top like soldiers from a war I wasn’t supposed to survive, and each wore a badge of guilt dipped in academic pride.

I said. " and if they don't...... your life will be at risk" I said. " what do I do?" he asked. " I'll figure it out" I said. I pulled the safe's door open and was met with one file laying inside. 'Logan we're leaving. Now.' I took the file in my hands and read the title written at the top. I stood awkwardly by the door until he motioned for me to sit. We started sorting through documents, the sound of papers and pens filling the room. It was peaceful. Or it should have been, if my brain would stop replaying the image of a nude, hot as sin man. At this rate my brain should be arrested for replaying that view in HD.
