It was a cruel irony; the very thing Elara had hoped would protect them was now acting as a beacon for the Weaver’s influence.
Inside the hall, the Chieftain, Grendel, sat on a throne carved from a single slab of black basalt. He was a mountain of a wolf, his fur a coarse, iron-grey, but as he sat there, he remained perfectly, unnervingly still. He didn't blink. He didn't shift his weight.
"Chieftain Grendel," Fenris called out, his voice echoing through the chamber. "We bring the maintenance instructions for the Ridge-weave. The winter is turning, and the patterns require recalibration."
