It wasn’t until we entered our first lockdown, that I found myself furloughed and decided to give something a go to keep my ever busy and flustered mind, calm. So I decided to write a novel. I cast aside the negativity from my schoolteacher and threw myself into my imagination and created Finding You. Sadly, my furlough didn’t last as long as I had hoped, after all, I welcomed the break, and soon enough I was thrust back into the high-pressured work life I had always known and my book had to take a back seat, however now it has finished. I have completed my first novel and stuck a middle finger up at my English teacher who impacted my 15-year-old former self.

He will let me know if he does.” She nodded and went back to reading her book. I closed the book I was reading and walked over to the shelves. I looked around to find a book that could help me. After a few minutes of searching, I saw a small black book shoved between the two larger ones. It almost looked hidden. I took it out and read the title.
