FINAL SCENE XENIA’S POV The beast met us with claws of shadow. My fire-wings flared wide, Rico’s blade blazed like molten light. For a moment, we were not prey or pawns in the Architect’s game. I don’t think Faeler’s grasp of air is as well-honed as mine and Merethyl’s because we practice at the Academy, but he would have access to sand.
