It was quiet, so quiet if i was to gulp loudly, the whole room would hear it. The elder reached for the spectres on a red cushion placed on a wooden table and handed each of us to hold. "As Alpha Adrian's mate, his Luna, in blood, flesh and air, you will rise as the Queen of Cosmos Kingdom when I place this crown on your head." The elders thick voice announced. With my head bent low, I waited as the elder placed Adrian's crown on his head before reaching for my crown and gently placing it on mine. The crown was heavy, it was made out of pure gold and diamonds. I kept my neck straight, giving support to my head and allowed myself to get accustomed to the heaviness.

“Crowns aren’t just rhinestones and gold, they are made up of discipline, determinant and a hard-to-find alloy called courage, do you deem yourself worthy of the such a title?” I darted my tongue to lick my dry lips as I nodded my head as the man muttered. “I do,” “With the power of god, I may pronounce you as the Queen of Nitholirc, wife of Lords of Nitholirc and hope of people,” My heart fluttered as he gently picked the crown with his both hands and Claus bowed slightly as he placed it on his head as people cheered and clapped. My chest tightened with uneasiness, and I swallowed the lump of nervousness in my throat.

Made of gold and silver metals twined delicately together, there were five points, each holding a gemstone, with the largest stone in the center. Without realizing what I was doing, I reached up to remove the crown. But when my fingers brushed the metal, the crown vanished. "Oh no," I whispered. Had I destroyed it? That would be just my luck. I leaned in closer to the mirror. "Think about the crown again," Christopher said, shutting the door behind him. "It should reappear." I swallowed and did what he suggested. Sure enough, the crown reappeared. "Thank you." Relief washed over me and for the briefest moment I thought I looked like my mom. I said her name in my mind.

It was lopsided and slightly burnt at the edges, but it tasted like love and laughter. Then Seraphira and Shaelith handed me a crown, handmade from twigs and wildflowers. The twigs were darkened, slightly smoked at the edges, Shaelith’s signature, of course. A crown touched with shadow. Her version of a masterpiece. I stared at it like it was a priceless artifact. “You made this?” I asked. They nodded. I placed it gently on my head and they clapped, faces lit up like sunrise. We took pictures, so many pictures, and videos too. Laughing, making faces, creating memories I hadn’t realized I needed. And I didn’t take the crown off all day.

Speaking of that, my crown was also on the table, and I noticed immediately that it also got an upgrade like my dress. “wait why does my crown look different?” I ask as I walk over and run my finger over the jewels. “Mrs. Jillson insisted when I took them all to get polished and tightened.” my mother tells me. My crown was gorgeous, but it was the simplicity of it that made me love it. It was white gold, wrapped around itself in intricate tangles. Before it had one stone in the main center. But now I saw that there were two more stones. One on each side of it that were smaller. And it only took me a moment to decipher that they were mine and Ryn’s birth stones.
