It was just like the writings of a computer, neatly and clearly obvious. Her perfect handwriting flows gracefully across the page, with elegant curves and consistent spacing. Each letter was meticulously formed, exuding a sense of sophistication and precision that captures attention and invites admiration. I picked up the drawings, and observed the nude pictures perfectly sketched out on blank sheets. I looked at the father and daughter, puzzled, or perhaps wondering if they were playing a prank on me. “Open it, Nathalie.” I took a deep breath then opened the paper. Seeing what was on the paper, I stopped short, completely surprised. It was a vibrant drawing. A woman and a man with round heads, triangular bodies, and stick-like arms and legs. In the space between the woman and the man was a child, all three stick figures had their hands connected. On the other side was a drawing of a large house, its roof a triangle and the rest of the house a square.

“We didn’t keep score; it was just for fun. But nobody ever got me down, so I guess I won.” I laughed under my breath and nodded. “Yeah, it sounds like you did.” He took another bite of his food, and I turned to Flora, who had just set the glass down. “Flora, how was your day?” “It was good, Mom. We had art today, and I made a wolf out of macaroni art. I’m bringing it home tomorrow.” She took another bite of food, almost as messy an eater as Cody. “Oh, I can’t wait to see that!” I replied before turning to Kyle.

"What will we draw?" "You will draw something or someone that means a lot to you, Danae. And once you are done each one of you will show and tell a story about your drawing with the rest." I gaze at the female with her long neatly groomed braids who is sat closely next to Calix as I answer her. These two are Argus's closest friends. "Can we draw butterflies?" "Yes, you can." "Can I draw my favourite fruit? It is an apple." "Yes." "What about the hut I live with mama?"

“Glitter only for the back pages. So it doesn’t disturb the serious work.” I watch the watercolor in her hand, tiny splatters already landing on the carpet. My serious work quietly cries in a corner, but honestly, today I don’t care. “Mommy, look.” She draws a small circle in the corner of the page, then adds two dots and a smile. “This is my gang. Table center. Happy.” There are four tiny heads there. One with long hair in a ponytail, green eyes. Above it: ME. I smile faintly. “You look very proud.”

She lay on the bed, kicking her legs in the air as she coloured her drawing. It didn't come out as planned, but it did look similar to what she pictured in her head. Her short hair was messed up and unnecessarily filled with pins. She hummed, tapping her chin thoughtfully with her head tilted to the side to observe her work. It was still missing something. Sunshine. She picked her yellow coloured pencil and drew a big bright sun.

Penelope nodded in response. "Who's your little friend?" I pointed to her stuffed animal. "His name is Wolfie." She said which made sense because it was a wolf. "You've got a really cute friend." I commented but Penelope did not respond. She was simply focused on her drawing which caught my attention. My heart skipped a beat as I saw that she was drawing the exact same flower symbol on one of the boxes given to me as a gift by Emilia and Tyler. "What flower is that?" I pointed to her drawing.

Hearing her daughter's sugary voice, Michelle couldn't help but laugh. Michelle examined the drawings closely. Lizzy's skills were indeed advanced for her age, with vibrant colors and heartwarming scenes. Both drawings depicted "family", one a "larger family" and the other a "nuclear family". Lizzy's keen observation was evident in her detailed depictions: her baby sister with a pacifier, her mom with waist-length hair, her dad in a suit and tie, and herself with big, round eyes. In the other drawing, she'd used lighter shades for the grandparents' hair. While Michelle understood what Lizzy had drawn, she still playfully asked, "Wow, Lizzy, these are amazing! But what did you draw here?"

"Mom’s on the left, and Dad’s on the right. Mom has long hair like you, and Dad likes to wear short sleeves and long pants..." Watching her explaining her drawing, Melody smiled. "It looks great." "Where’s your drawing?" Lily asked. Christopher followed Lily's gaze, and saw Melody tracing a shape with a pencil on the white paper in front of her. "It’s not finished yet," Melody answered casually. She added a few more strokes to the paper as she spoke. The seemingly random movements made the cat active and vivid. Even the way its fur folded when it raised its paws were lifelike, as if it would jump out of the paper in the next second.

I watched them with hooded eyes as they shred the ugly designs into pieces and sighed when they handed me the sketchpad back. "You must think this is funny, but you haven't seen aything yet. You will sit here and draw me other better designs", Lola snapped angrily, and I shrugged. "Of course", I replied with a smile. I took out my drawing materials from my bag and began to draw again. The dresses I drew were not much different from the ugly ones I had drawn earlier. This time, they were more hideous, giving exaggerated views of what Lola had described her dress to look like.
