“We didn’t keep score; it was just for fun. But nobody ever got me down, so I guess I won.”
I laughed under my breath and nodded. “Yeah, it sounds like you did.”
He took another bite of his food, and I turned to Flora, who had just set the glass down.
“Flora, how was your day?”
“It was good, Mom. We had art today, and I made a wolf out of macaroni art. I’m bringing it home tomorrow.” She took another bite of food, almost as messy an eater as Cody.
“Oh, I can’t wait to see that!” I replied before turning to Kyle.
