I adjusted Bellezza’s body on my shoulder. “Hand me the monk’s blood,” I ordered, as I extended my free hand, “and get ready to run.” Morgan handed me a small glass bottle containing a green-colored substance called the monk’s blood and strapped the bag to his chest tighter. When this blood combines with the clear substance on the ground, also known as the Dricola, the oil of a dragon’s fang, hymns would erupt. This should show us the portal’s entrance and it would only stay up for 10 seconds.

The drainage grate was a massive grid of rusted iron, three inches thick, embedded directly into the fortress foundation. Gideon stepped forward, raising his hands, but Eldrick didn't wait for magic or levered iron. He let out a low, guttural roar as his muscles swelled, his fingernails lengthening into thick, black claws. He grabbed two of the central iron bars with his bare hands, the residual silver-weave lining the archway searing his palms with white-hot smoke. He didn't let go. With a sickening, metal-tearing screech, Eldrick ripped the heavy iron frame clean out of the stone mortar, hurling the twisted metal into the black water behind us.

Dragons of old, with eyes like stars, Held truths more vast than mortal scars. Their eggs, like jewels of breath and flame, Now fall to hands that know not shame. Skylar I watch as my father and his soldiers enter the castle walls. My father looks smug and proud. “My people, we have done it,” he says, uncovering the golden egg and lifting it above his head. Everyone around me gasps, then applauds, as if stealing a dragon egg from its mother is something to be celebrated. I ignore my own aversion to the practice and clap along with everyone else.

The moment his gaze locked onto the infant, a monstrous, white-hot fury erupted from his throat. "Why does it have blue eyes?! Why the hell does my son have blue eyes?!" The entire grand hall plunged into a suffocating, paralyzing silence. The Elders exchanged horrified, bewildered glances. No one dared to draw breath. Every single legitimate child born to the dragon royal family, male or female, possessed pure, molten-gold reptilian slits at birth. This was an iron clad, prehistoric law of royal biology that had remained unbroken for thousands of years.

After careful questioning about the current situation in the area, Christine and her Uncle Liam made their way to the temple in Dragon Claw City. Heirs to the Dragon Claw Warlocks have always been rare, with no more than three siblings in a generation. Christine's grandfather had two sons, the eldest Alexander and the second Liam, of whom only Christine's father Alexander awakened the Dragon Vein Warlock bloodline. Liam did not awaken, but he did have the Dragon Vein, so he easily understood the fighting spirit and became a knight.

“Hverfa.” “Band hyggiandi ásamt.” He bound us together and I could hear him in my mind. This was how we would communicate further. We made our way to the basement gate and I looked at Kiran. “Rof,” Kiran said as he looked at the gate. I saw the flames in his hands and they burned brighter until the flames enveloped him and the gate started to open. “Nice going, Superstar,” I said and he laughed. He followed me as I made my way to the elevator. I pressed the button and we waited. I wondered what the people in the control room were thinking. They were probably calling Lynda as we stood there to report that the gate was malfunctioning.

It was a phenomenon that no one had expected, considering the dire situation they had last seen them in. The Moon Gate, crumbling and Cazer held captive to it as a sacrifice, Chiri had exerted a great deal of magic to preserve Cazer’s life. Closing the Gateway with souls still slipping forth from the cracking framework of passageway, it had been several months before the Gate was reopened again by Allen.

The legends didn't do him justice - the Dragon God was even more beautiful in person. Staring at him, I could tell that beneath his perfect exterior, there lies a hidden strength just waiting to be unleashed. The Dragon God’s eyes glowed with a fierce crimson red, and his cropped black hair moved as if blown by the wind. The spikes along his fingers and arms appeared sharp and menacing, but he seemed like he could retract them with ease. If it weren't for the black pants he had on, he would have been fully nude, his muscular torso with the finest of hairs on full display.

she moved her attention to the other side of the plate, "These are dragons. And this here, what looks like a modest crown…." "Ok, honey, but what this all means? What is it?" Ethan was the first one to voice what everyone thought. Once she was back on the sofa, she spoke: "Roughly? A daughter of the dragon will tame the fire. And I'm pretty sure that fire here is not a literal fire." Everyone took their seats, still not understanding what this was all about. Kate and Richard were staring at Sarah long enough for everyone else to notice, so they looked at Sarah too.
