But if I told them the truth, maybe they would take me back to Thornwood. “A werewolf.” I said as loud as I could muster. Collective gasps broke out around me. Gasps of shock and disdain. I dragged my gaze around, confused by their reaction. Wait, he did say this was the ‘Dragon Keep’. The memory of when I came across a book about Dragons rushed into my mind. “...dragons are egoistic creatures who think they're better than everyone. They hung our kind for sport. I was six months pregnant, dragged away by enemy soldiers outside the gate. After the gates shut, an enemy blade pierced my stomach. Blood spread beneath me. They laughed and kicked me from the cliff road. I thought I would die. Then Kael Drakon appeared. He descended through smoke and ash on his frost dragon. That was his bonded dragon. Later, the fire-dragon egg I brought with me hatched on the day we married. From then on, frost answered to Kael, and fire answered to me. He drove back the enemy with ease, saved my life, and became my husband.

I had to brace myself. “You planning on walking off?” he asked. “Not today.” “That’s reassuring.” I glanced sideways at him. “You don’t think I’d jump.” He studied my face more carefully then. “Should I?” I returned my gaze to the sea. “Do you think your dragon could catch me?” Silence. “Catch you,” he repeated slowly. “Yes.” “Why would I need to catch you?” “I read a book once,” I said. “About cliff diving. People leaping into water from heights like this.”

She and Grayson were fine with that. “I think Ty is more than just a black opal dragon,” I answer. They all look at me like I have lost my mind. I sat there for a few minutes, trying to figure out how to explain what I was thinking. I explained that she did but didn’t fit the description of what a black opal dragon should look like. I walk over to the bookshelf and pull off the book about gemstone dragons. It has both physical descriptions and pictures showing what the person will look like as well as what their dragons will look like.

She slumped with the impact. She was losing consciousness as the gun was being pulled out of her hands. Someone snorted. “We hit the jackpot. The bitch is here in a sexy avatar. I wake up and notice Taran is gone. Letting out a sigh, I slowly get out of bed. At least I didn’t have any nightmares. Not knowing what else to do, I begin looking through dragon folklore. Though Taran and I have gone over things many times, I can’t help feeling like we are missing something. My searching doesn’t uncover anything new, so I look at one of the books Taran brought when flying me home. The book has spells and summarizes who, why, and when about the spells. I look at the summaries and find a name that sounds familiar. “Lyse Galno”

That was when she noticed an old red binding book on her bedside table. There was a name on it, (Nightwing.) It also had a golden dragon encrusted just below the name. Catori's breathing came out in a rush at that, all sorts of thoughts running through her mind. Did a Dragon leave it here? She took up the book gingerly and examined it. Electric current raced up her arms, causing her to drop the book. The moment it dropped to the floor, it opened to a page on its own. Catori got down on the floor to inspect on the page. It only illustrated an image of a dragon.

"You know what..." Minos reached for his breast pocket and produced a small leather-bound booklet, placing it on the boy's lap. "What's this?" The boy grabbed it and started reading. "Thee. Dragun. Fromm. Thee. Shyre. What's this about?" "It's about... a dragon. From the shire." Minos didn't know how to explain what the book was about, as he never really got past the first ten pages himself. He found it boring and too juvenile for his taste. He only reads it so he can go to sleep. "It's my favorite book," he lied, "and I want you to read it."
