It worked most of the time with your mother. The elevator doors open. The hallway is silent, and she doesn't hear any muffled voices or anything that would hint that a fight is going on. She turns the key in the door. The room is dim, and the only noise present is that of a fan; probably coming from Joshua's room. Everything seems in order. Everything is apparently fine. Sighing with relief, Emanuele takes off her shoes and locks the door. A peaceful night's sleep was all she needed. She goes straight to her own room.

Lyric I wake alone in a strange bed and a strange room, but I’m warm, the bed under me is sinfully soft, and the covers are as delicate as clouds, while still being warm and toasty. The last thing I remember is Noah carrying me out of the large chamber into a smaller cave that used to be his bedroom. Star took control and after that it’s nothing but a blank. But I’m not there anymore. I’m in the rooms in the main house, the same one we used yesterday when we got here.

I said walking inside my room and just plopped myself on the bed. I closed my eyes, wishing to go far away from each one of these people or at least die... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Italics words is the part of flashback...

I could feel her gaze on my back, hot and wanting. “Sleep in my room if you want,” I added, glancing over my shoulder just enough to catch her flustered face. “Nobody will bother you there.” Her breath hitched again. The fierce defiance was gone, replaced by something softer. Hungrier. I smirked and twisted the doorknob. “And get ready,” I tossed over my shoulder, “for tomorrow’s flight. We’re returning to Toronto.” I didn’t wait for her reply. I stepped out, shutting the door behind me with a deep, satisfied sigh, already counting the hours until I could have her trembling beneath me again.

I almost get away with it, but when I get caught, I get swatted. We walk the halls in search of our rooms. Sadly they aren't even near each other. Lyra and Eden rave about their poolside suite on the first floor before I take the elevator to the second. Room 243 is a basic room with two queen beds and a window that overlooks the parking lot. Thanks dad. I’m not in my room long before my phone pings with a text. Lyra demands I come to their room and get ready to hang out by the pool. With a quick reply of ‘whatever’ typed back, I take my sweet time abiding to her demand.

I opened his message, “Your mom's just fell asleep right now, I'm not sure if she really is asleep but, I really don't want to lay here with her. I’ll move to my room, and maybe pass out there, she might wake up later at night to check on me, so we’ll see tomorrow” I sighed

The click of the lock echoed in the quiet. --- My room was dark. I couldn't afford to see myself mopping around and acting miserable. I leaned against the door and closed my eyes for a second. I needed to get out. Not to the office. Not to another version of the same routine. Out. Somewhere he wasn’t. Somewhere I could breathe without feeling him in every space. I opened my eyes. Looked around the room. Then at my wardrobe. Then at my phone. The idea came together slowly.

“Take me to my room.” I don’t know if I make it there and if I even take a full step on my own. Everything fades too fast.

If only life could be so easy and carefree. The house is so dark from here. There is only one room that is brightly illuminated, the rest of the house looks like it is asleep. Like a moth drawn to a flame, I just have to go and see what is in there. I find a quiet little patch to leave Jimmy and make my way to the light.
