Curiosity piqued, I clicked it open. The message was brief and to the point. The HMA was aware of Moonlight Phoenix and its potential applications, as well as Wolfe Medical's vaccinations. They were particularly interested in exploring the possibility of creating treatments for certain strains of the human flu, particularly those linked to the Crescent Flu. My heart skipped a beat. I thought of Richard and Cecil, then I frowned. I didn't think that humans could catch the Crescent Flu. If it was really just a version of the werewolf virus, shouldn't it turn them?

"Now, let's go. I don't want Ximena to wait." We walked outside of Flynn's house where the driver was waiting for us. A couple weeks ago Flynn bought a new mansion and he told me that I was the first girl he brought here. I was flattered. The house was a beautiful two story mansion with an absolutely amazing spiral staircase and a gorgeous library with hundreds of books. The house was big, it could accommodate at least thirty people. There was a backyard, a swimming pool, a cinema, a basketball court, and so much more.

We were now passing through large and square houses, from one of the most expensive condominiums in the city. In the big city, I was used to dealing with people who bragged about the amount of money in their accounts. So it was not new to me to know that the people of that neighborhood "even located in a forgotten city in the countryside" were the most superb and stupid of all the others. Flynn was happily telling me about the clients he had made in that region, and I pretended to pay attention, mentally noting that the best way to convince him of some genuine interest would be to massage his ego, letting him tell about his work and his career. Flynn was no different from any man, after all.

It was then that I noticed him, my eyes taking in the boy behind Ken, I didn’t miss the way Ken stood with his boy slightly protecting him. “Where is crescent?” he asked. “With Nyx,” I said in a low tone. His face hardened, “We have to go together, she can’t stay there with him,” he growled. I knew that. A frown formed on his face, “How did she get caught?” he asked. “A man called Michael…”

He'd let me be this time. Caden and I stood upon the glass porch of the Crescent tower, a gigantic body of glass and hyper technology, overlooking the vast city before us. From where we stood, we could see multiple movements, the full moon, big and bright above us, illuminating the paths for the wolves who had shifted to race. Joyous howls came from every side, as the wolves basked in the beauty of the moon. “This has to be my favourite part of the festival” Caden said, as we watched the wolves from our elevated position.

"Don't come in, Serena! This place is about to blow! You guys need to run!" Raiden was still heading out with Celia in his arms, but he paused when he heard my words. He looked back in disbelief at me. All warmth left his eyes, as though he were looking at a stranger. "How am I now realizing you're so sly, Winifred? "The firefighters will be here and can control the flames in half an hour! What will our colleagues think of me now that you're saying this place will blow up? Can't you be a little more considerate like Celia?"

"How can they do that?" Arachne's gaze suddenly become somber. "They're afraid of what they don't understand. They see the other creatures as inferior, as abominations. And they'll stop at nothing to keep their precious city pure." Aria's mind reeled as she thought of the implications. "So, the city is... segregated?" Arachne nodded. "Yes. The Beacon wolves have divided the city into sections, each one strictly controlled. Humans and wolves live together, but any other creature is forced to live on the outskirts, in poverty and fear."

Suddenly, sparkles surrounded us and the car. "Hold the wheel!" "Oh-kay...." Eve reached over and did as I asked. I turned around and held my hand out to Cruz. "Circumdate ac defendant!" Chapter 2 As Gael released his seed on Amy’s stomach, he heard a commotion outside the packhouse. He got up and walked to the window and saw Phoenix get into a taxi with her family and her friend and they all looked like the world was coming to an end. He felt the hollowest feeling in his chest and couldn’t understand why it hurt so much. Watching the taxi drive away hurt him to his core. He had to bend over to keep from falling to the floor.

A city in the outskirt. My blood boiled and iced over at the same time. Crescent City was isolated, dangerous, crawling with rogues who didn’t respect pack lines. I didn’t hesitate. “Head north—toward Crescent City!” I barked. But my voice cracked with a rare tremor. I shoved Collins aside and slid into the driver’s seat myself. The moment the engine roared alive, Collins scrambled in, still on the phone. Lana suddenly burst into full crying mode. She squirmed in the nanny’s arms, reaching toward me desperately with her tiny fists.
