Without a word, he threw another punch, and I continued to effortlessly dodge every attack. The crowd watched in amazement as the trainer's attempts grew increasingly ferocious.

His voice echoed, and sounded scary as he made big strides towards me. “I had to… I need to wake up in my world. I can’t just leave like that.” I replied, at the top of my voice. “That’s none of my concern. I have no wish to give you my blood. If you want to take it, come try. I guess you’re going to regret having to try this, because you might end up dying here.” The trickster said as he dashed towards me.

Slowly, I started making my way toward the stage, thinking fast. Okay, so what could I do? Should I claim to be a magician and transform into a wolf? Well, there were people here, someone might film it, post it on You.Tube, and then the werewolf community would get exposed. No, I couldn’t risk that.

I only had to focus on the moment, the moves, the thrill of the battle. For the next hour, I showed Reginald the move I had used against him. His movements were very precise, very technical, but almost too stiff to learn such a fluid deflection. He tried again and again, growing increasingly more frustrated each time. “This is some form of magic trickery,” he growled after his last attempt had him tripping over his own feel and landing face-first in the dirt. He pushed himself and dusted himself off, his impatience stilting the movements. “I will return tomorrow and you will teach me better.”

I step forward slowly. Power settling back into place. Because next time? There won’t be a scene. There won’t be an audience. There won’t be a chance for him to speak. Next time I won’t wear someone else’s face. I’ll wear my own and I’ll make him look at me. Until he forgets what he thinks he knows. Until he doubts himself. Until that calm, controlled expression finally cracks. And when it does I’ll be there. Waiting. This isn’t over.
