He grimaced in pain. It turned out that the iron chain was more than fifteen meters long, and there were iron weights tied to both ends, one big and one small. The big one weighed almost a hundred pounds, and the smaller one weighed about fifteen pounds. It was a Twin-headed Chain Mace, a rare and unique weapon that very few people could use. Used properly, its power was astonishing. It could easily kill someone! The bald man was clearly an expert in this field. He first threw out the large ball, then the small one. The iron chain flew out and wrapped around Elio's waist with astonishing strength.

**Chloe’s POV** My eyelids felt like they’d been glued shut with concrete. Every time I tried to force them open, a dull, throbbing ache pulsed behind my forehead, spreading down the left side of my face like someone had taken a hammer to my skull and missed the nail. I finally managed to crack them apart just enough to let in a sliver of harsh white light that stabbed straight through to the back of my brain. I groaned lowly, involuntary and immediately regretted it. The sound scraped my throat raw, like I’d swallowed broken glass.

My shoulders hit the floor and pain flared across my back. It was a chain. I twisted, heart hammering, and saw it. Thick silver links, each one stamped with symbols I didn’t recognize. The links of the chain were worked into the shape of small skulls between which round beads were inserted like crimson drops. “What’s this?” I breathed, marveling at the gloomy beauty of the thing. “It’s... it’s a gift, little one,” he smiled. Then, he skillfully undid the clasp, dividing the chain into two parts. He grasped one part in his fist and held out the other one to me, “May I?” A shiver ran down my spine.

“Think Aiden. Don't fight the chains. Fight the drug." He slowed his breathing deliberately, forcing air in through his nose, out through his mouth. Minutes passed and he reached out the fork he slipped behind him from the tray she dropped in the morning and started fixing it into the cuffs. He turned and turned till he heard a soft click. Sweat gathered at his temples. His shirt clung to his back, then he tugged, testing the cuff again. The chain rattled, still intact. He didn't pull that hard. His heart pounded faster. Shifting his weight before pulling again.

Then, when he was close, the fox chieftain moved his hand and Long Chen, who was still looking at him, suddenly shouted something. "Ho? So this is your plan?" Long Chen asked. "That's it, you didn't realize that I released my qi to make a chain for you, did you?" The fox chieftain replied with a smile. "Hahaha, but what is it? Only this can't make me..." "Yes, it can't but this can! Wake up Chen'er!" Feng Peng shouted, throwing a coin towards Long Chen's forehead. The moment the coin was close to Long Chen, his eyes opened wide as he saw the light shining from the coin.

I was working the late shift for awhile but I was changed to mornings about seven months ago and that is when my life got interesting. The days were blending together with seeing the same people and doing nothing new until I started working breakfast and lunch at the diner. Will he really kill us? I touched my whole body. There is no pain in its parts. It's just amazing why he didn't even beat me right away. I struggled to get out of the chain. Pull here. Pull there. But whatever I do, I didn't make it. As I tried to remove my hand, I heard a laugh at my side.
