’ Rishi tried to reassure me, but I felt too riled up, too anxious.
‘Let’s shift.’ I told Rishi. It wasn’t something we had done a lot, especially the first few weeks after the rejection. But it would be nice to let Rishi take over, to allow myself to focus on the smells of the forest, the feel of the wind in my fear, and the sounds of the creatures all around us.
Rishi had no problem going outside, so we took off running as soon as I stepped out of the packhouse.
