“Ugh, Frederick!” he groaned, snapping his fingers with exaggerated annoyance before springing back a step. “Get rid of the… werewolf thing on her, will you? You know I can’t stand the sight of death that I didn't cause myself. It’s just—” he fluttered his fingers, his eyes gleaming with mock disgust, “—so tasteless.”
A smaller man appeared from behind him and rushed to my side, lifting Eryndor effortlessly and tossing him aside. I heard Eryndor groan, and my head snapped toward him.
