Novel & Cerita Free Falling Book

I’m dropped flat on my back, my body crunching against books and shelving. My world blurs as my head bounces against the hard, stone ground. All around me, books are falling from the shelves. Paper dances through the air, drifting like feathers. I can’t tell if the metallic taste in my mouth is magic–or blood. I go still for the first time, the pain too overwhelming to move, let alone think past.

Because of their heavy build and fast pace, a hard nudge and bump from one of them made me lose my balance. "Woah!" one of them blurted out, but it was too late. I felt my body tilt backward. My heavy textbook pulled me down with it, and in an instant, I knew I was about to fall. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the embarrassment and the pain of hitting the floor. But it wasn't the concrete that caught me.

The compelling would be so strong, its not easy to resist' the text read. Kyra closed the book shut when she started to feel uneasy. She stood up so fast that the chair she was sitting on toppled over. She stumbled over one of the legs of the chair and fell back wards. Her arms flailing while she tried to stop the fall. She tried to grab the shelf, but accidentally grabbed a book that was placed in the corner at the middle row of that shelf. She saw the book moving out of the row, but got stuck. Her hand slipped and she couldn't stop her fall. She was expecting to fall on the floor, she did, but into the hole which was opened in the floor out of the blue.

Everything inside me goes still. My mind tries to reject it, but my body reacts first. My eyes stay locked on the words in disbelief. My knees buckle. The book falls from my hand and lands on the floor with a heavy thud. I barely feel myself going down. One second ago I was standing, and now I am on the ground. The cold stone bites into my palms as I try to steady myself too late. The hidden library looks like what they haven’t taken care of in a long while, so the floor looks dirty and rusted.

With a final defiant flourish, the pages slipped free, descending towards the ground like confetti at a forgotten celebration. Heart pounding, I bent down to retrieve the fallen book, my mind still reeling from the profound revelations I had just absorbed. Yet, as I reached out, ready to reclaim the weighty tome, my eyes widened in astonishment. Standing before me was a figure, a silhouette cast in the flickering shadows of the library's dimly lit corners.

99 wouldn't show up for another 45 minutes. I stopped hesitating and climbed up onto the windowsill. The wind roared into my pajamas, raising goosebumps all over my skin. "Let's gamble." I shut my eyes and threw myself out. The feeling of free fall swallowed me whole. The wind in my ears turned into a high-pitched scream. 16th floor, 15th floor, 14th floor… The ground rushed up toward me. Right when I should have smashed into the sidewalk and turned into a pile of meat, something impossible happened.

CHAPTER 1 Alexa's POV The sky was bright red, I could feel myself falling, from the bright red sky, the air leaving my lungs. I tried to grasp anything, anything that could break my fall and not send me spiraling to my room down below. I closed my eyes as my body neared the ground, bracing for impact. I landed with a soft thud. Possibly the first thing that shocked me. I had landed on something, a mould of something...or more appropriately, someone.

Her eyes went crimson as the pain flooded over her. She realized she had to flee from him as quickly as possible. Her instincts shouted for safety, pushing her to keep a safe distance from him. She noticed that the lift was not moving when she looked at the floor number. “Why…. why is this lift not moving”

Coming when I knew that they wouldn't be here. I was still deep in thought when I sat on one of they ledges of the rooftop and slipped my feet under the steel, criss-cross fence. I gripped tightly onto the fence as I looked down to the ground below. Surprisingly, I was unfazed and it seems like I've finally overcome my altophobia. "Hey, Maddie. Be careful. If you fall, I won't be able to catch you." I was startled when someone called out to me and when I turned around I saw...

She knew that it was strange, but it brought her great joy. “And you go here, little man,” she said to a copy of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, “my but you sure have been read a lot. You’re almost falling apart!” Amelia giggled to herself thinking what would the people say if they knew that I spoke to books? She closed her eyes as soon as she smelt the sweet smell of cinnamon… Jax was near. Amelia made her way back to the front of the library in time to catch him almost leaving.
