[Valerie] ** Three Months Ago ** I had all the tools I needed to execute the revenge I was hoping to wreak on the one who had robbed me of so much in my life. It plagued me for days on end - if it was the right thing to do. I sat at my desk in the library, paging through Stephen King’s “Doctor Sleep” but the words printed on the pages seemed to fuze and look like black lines and blotches across the pages. I had lost interest the moment I opened the first page, so how I was already on page fifty three was a mystery to me, because I couldn’t recall any of the words I had read.

I swallow the lump in my throat and descend. The air down here is cooler, thicker with the smell of leather and dust and secrets. Torches have guttered out, but faint violet light clings to the edges of things—my new sight, maybe, or the contract’s gift. The shadows dance ahead of me, playful almost, skipping along the shelves until they reach a particular bookcase. One tendril stretches, points. A heavy black tome launches itself from the highest shelf and thumps into my waiting hands. I stagger under the weight. The book is bound in leather so dark it drinks the light; no gold leaf, no embossed sigils, just smooth, inky blackness. The title is etched in silver that seems to shift when I ti

"Come here now." Did anything touch this man at all? I couldn't care less. Annoyed, I pounded the backpack in front of his chest and hoped that at least a bit of it had gone away, but he simply put it on the floor at his feet and pulled two flashlights from his side pockets. A large one that you could use to break in the skull of a prole in an emergency and a small one that would only have been more girlish if it were pink instead of black. Still, I took it. Little light was better than no light at all.

It was a coincidence,she told herself,nothing more.It was impossible that the little girl and Marcus could be speaking of the same thing,it was just impossible! “The lady in the shadows?”she said,her hands trembling in fear. In her mind she saw herself lying cold and frozen in that casket.

The next second, the Patchwork Monster tore the man in half. He tossed the body outside casually. Just then, a crisp, bell-like voice sounded outside. “It’s after work hours, who’s so rude as to be throwing bodies around?” A young girl with three heads and eight arms appeared at the doorway. With just one look at the shop, anger filled her voice, and her hair stood on end. “Who the hell had a death wish and smashed the Number One Must-Eat shop in the entire horror game?”

Curiously I opened the book; the first page I saw, it had handwritten writing which looked very old and the pages were almost yellowish, it said “The sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord’s arrival. He will come and claim what is his and the children of the night will bow down to it". I turned the page to read more but the book started to disappear from my hand. My vision went black and I posted back into my room with a pang of pain in my head I placed my hand on my head and my eyes opened wide. What does that mean? I thought. CHAPTER 27 As you brave your way in this evil forest, you must stay alert. Keep your eyes open for the signs that others do not see. You will likely become lost, and doubtless you will find yourself getting deeper into the secluded parts of this evil haunted forest, a forest with all kinds of ghosts, black sucking creatures, they are all hungry, hungry and angry for revenge. Hungry for your fresh brain, yes, hungry for your warm blood, soft tissues from your body, but take heart, as this is only bringing you closer to your goal.

Short terrifying stories that leave you insomnolent . . . definitely a must read to while away time and get sleepless with fear, hahaha. I don't own any of this stories.
