I Found a One-Way Ticket to Freedom

I Found a One-Way Ticket to Freedom

At last, he took my pen and scribbled his signature. I finally let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you for setting me free, Mr. Wickham. You should head back after you're done recuperating here. Jessica looks like she truly loves you." Jessica staggered to her feet, stunned. I spared neither of them another glance. Holding the divorce papers that were finally signed, I walked away. They were finally out of my life. I exhaled in relief. Plenty of young ladies still came to me to ask where the attractive young man had gone. But still, my answer remained unchanged. I told them to stay away from him.

"MIDNIGHT'S MARK"

"MIDNIGHT'S MARK"

"But we know one thing absolutely. The thing Lila Crescent taught us one hundred and seventy years ago. That every wolf has worth. That rank does not define value. That freedom is worth fighting for." "We do not know what the future holds. But we know we will face it together. Or separately. Or in whatever way we choose. Because that is what freedom means. Choice. Always choice." The crowd howled in agreement. And somewhere, in whatever place spirits went, Lila Crescent smiled. Her movement had grown beyond her wildest imaginings. Had evolved into something she might not even recognize. But the core principle remained. Every wolf has worth. Every wolf deserves choice. Every wolf deserves fre

I Gave Them Freedom

I Gave Them Freedom

The way he looked at Charlie was full of disappointment, as if he were the one being abandoned. Megan's eyes were full of tears. She broke free from Jamie and grabbed my hands. "Ida, I really love Charlie! Please set him free and let us be together, okay? I swear I'll treat Nigel well. I'll never have children of my own! I'll treat Nigel like my own son!" I stood there like some unforgivable villainess. But… I wanted the divorce, too! I did not want to dig into what had happened during that one short month as I straightened up and looked at Charlie. "Charlie, if you won't finalize the divorce with me, I'll file it on my own."

Set Me Free

Set Me Free

“Have mine. I’ve cut it for you.” As usual, I didn’t dare to move. I simply buried my head lower and replied, “The matron at the manor taught me that, as I am of lowly birth, I am not worthy of a proper meal.” “Please eat first,” I whispered. “I will eat the leftovers.” Hudson froze. He exchanged a look with Ethan, who was sitting right next to him. Ethan tried to comfort me, saying, “Eva, listen to me. Now that you are back, those old rules don’t exist anymore. As long as you’re good, we’ll treat you just as well as we did before. Eat.”

duties, Nothing worth gaining is ever gained without effort. You can no more have freedom without striving and suffering for it than you can win success as a banker or a lawyer without labor and effort, without self-denial in youth and the display of a ready and alert intelligence in middle age. The people who say that they have not time to attend to politics are simply saying that they are unfit to live in a free community. Their place is under a despotism; or if they are content to do nothing but vote, you can take despotism tempered by an occasional plebiscite, like that of the second Napoleon. In one of Lowell’s magnificent stanzas about the Civil War he speaks of the fact which his cou

This is an interesting book with intriguing characters and premise. The author does well to draw the audience in and make them part of the story. The narrator feels very genuine, and I began to feel for him. Very well done.

Mhenn this story is Lit?. It keeps the reader drawn to the main character. At the first chapter I was already glued to how chuka's mistakes caused misfortunes to others. This is definitely a story y'all should read.

"I'm fine with it either way. It's the thought that counts." "Believe me, Mais. I will make sure to make your life better." "Don't push yourself too hard. Life is pretty good right now. I don't have to have a nice house or a nice car. I just want you to be happy." … "Mr. Ford, why are you crying?" Ethan wiped away the moisture on his face. "Am I?" "Did I say something to upset you?" "No." Macy felt uneasy. "Mr. Ford, please let me know if I did anything wrong…"

I already suspected that Ethan has a terminal illness! Though this is only a fictional storyline, but in reality, first, there are still a lot of ways for a remedy to an illness even cancer especially nowadays with so much advance technology in finding a cure

I enjoyed this story the most of the shorts I’ve read over the past few days. It had a great ending, not like the trashy endings of others. It made you torn, wondering who you’re rooting for, Ethan or Seth. It was very touching, one that will stay with you for a while. Reading it again is a must!

The Search for Freedom

"Shhh—don't mention that again. Now tell me: how to be free?" "The only way to get rid of that curse isn't by risking your own life but the lives of other people. You will need to risk the lives of a hundred people in order to get rid of that curse. Now tell me if you're really sure you can risk a hundred lives just to get the thing you solely hope for."

Freed

Freed

I admit and her head snaps towards me as if she had forgotten I was even present on this trip. “I don’t understand how people could kill a person that had a family, children to take care of..” I looked down at her and found myself wishing for an instant that I had her humble soul. She’d talk sense into the most daring man and do it with ease. Her innocence in the world shined bright when she had spoken because people would kill for a dime. It’s just the world we lived in. “The people here placed those up after the war, your parents were good people and even better rulers.” Queen Fara smiled down at Raven and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Traveller Of Two Worlds

Traveller Of Two Worlds

She waited until the shuffling ceased, then clapped her hands once, the sharp sound echoing in the high-ceilinged room. “Good morning,” Mavel said, her voice warm and clear. “Look around you. Today, you are not defined by the dirt on your boots or the poverty of your hamlet. You are not peasants, laborers, or servants. You are students. You will read, you will write, you will learn. And in learning, you will become the one thing no tyrannical regime can ever take away: free.” Silence descended, heavy and absolute. The children stared at her, their minds struggling to process the pronouncement. Freedom had always been an abstract threat whispered in dark corners, not a promise offered in brig
