In the corner, Noah hummed softly to himself as he enthusiastically painted a picture, oblivious to the tension that hung in the room.
Before Freya could say anything, Noah bounded back to Diego’s bedside, holding up his coloring book with pride.
“Look, Diego! I finished it!” he exclaimed excitedly, thrusting the page toward him. It was a colorful, slightly messy drawing of what appeared to be the three of them standing together under a bright yellow sun.
Diego smiled warmly, his hand gently ruffling Noah’s hair. “This is amazing, buddy. You’re an artist in the making”, he said softly.
