All personnel, fall back to the underground safe room immediately!" The words had barely left my mouth when the noise outside spiked. The snarls grew thicker, closer, and mingled with panicked screams from the humans.

Shoot him!” Callie shrieked. Dan was just about to pull the trigger when suddenly, a deafening crash exploded behind them. The door behind them was violently smashed open, and a mutated zombie burst inside with a furious roar. Everything happened so fast. It all happened too quickly. Callie, scared out of her wits, immediately grabbed Dan beside her and shoved him toward the lunging zombie.

Surprisingly enough, I was reborn to the timeframe where there were six hours left before the zombie outbreak began. Memories of my past life were replayed in my mind like a movie reel. It was as if I could still smell the rotten and bloodied stench wafting from the zombies. With a trembling hand, I felt my neck. Although it felt smooth and flawless, I could still feel phantom pain flaring from it. The moment my phone's screen lit up, I turned my attention to it immediately. It turns out zombies come from a mutated human gene that activates after death. This mutated gene is inherited by one's father if he carries the mutation.

The first zombie broke through the defenses, its rotting fingers grabbing the edge of the deck as it climbed up! "Ah!" Screams erupted instantly. The zombie was bloated. Its eyes hung on its cheeks as it lunged straight at me. "Clarissa!" Hans yelled, immediately raising his gun and aiming at the zombie in front of me. The next second, he was immediately drawn to Winnie's scream. "Hans! I'm scared!" He hesitated for a second before immediately turning his gun toward the zombies near Winnie. My heart sank to the bottom of my stomach.
