Before long, I felt my hands grow so numb that I could barely move them. I was so cold. I knew I had messed up. I would never dare covet my younger brother Beckett Walker's food again—not even a whiff of it. Suddenly, the piercing wail of a red alert echoed through the entire base. It was a Code Red—the highest-level zombie horde invasion! I could hear panicked screams, frantic footsteps, and the deafening roar of heavy gunfire. I summoned every ounce of strength I had left to shout, my voice trembling and stuttering from the cold. "Dad! Mom! Let me out! The zombies are here!"

Little Zane kept staring at his father's dead body. He felt like screaming but he was frozen and stayed where he was, hidden in the shadows. "ZANE?!"shouted a voice, it was his mother,"Zane are you alright?! Did they hurt you too?! What is going on?!" "Mother, my father is dead. Prince Alfred shot him with a silver arrow in the heart",blurted out Zane, with moisture in his eyes. His mother knelt down infront of him and said,"Don't worry son, you will be alright. I will protect you till my last breath. I won't let those Vampires hurt you! Come with me"

Without my mutative abilities to reinforce the camp's defenses, they wouldn't hold up much longer. I clenched my fist, my nails digging into my palm. Tomorrow would be day three. Emilia, this would be your last chance. The first light of dawn barely touched the horizon when I stormed out of the isolation room. Those gray-white streaks on my right arm had already spread halfway up my shoulder. A night had passed, and the air smelled even more rancid now. I could feel the zombies closing in. Without me as the primary fighter, the camp wouldn't last much longer.

Their original plan was to stress me out with a diet of high-cholesterol meat and the grief of losing loved ones, hoping I would die in an accident and they could inherit my dad's fortune and cash in on a fat insurance policy. However, when I jumped from the upstairs and ended up in a coma, only to wake up soon after, they panicked about being found out and crafted a fake reality around me, a true Truman Show. In the sterile quiet of the hospital room, the past year's nightmare played out again. They pumped me full of drugs that twisted reality, convincing me I was given a second chance at life.

I demanded, becoming irritated. For a few moments we sat in silence, in a staring competition. I glared at him and he finally gave in and sighed. “There are a few ways. The most common way is to remove an essential organ, such as by beheading or tearing out someone’s heart or lungs. Simply injuring the organ doesn’t work, as werewolves can just heal. But removing it completely is a guarantee for death. Another common way is poisoning by wolfsbane. Our pack sometimes shoots darts filled with wolfsbane at enemies to get it into their bodies quickly. But you can also die from eating it or if it’s pushed into an open wound.”

I hold onto a bookshelf, my head spinning. "It's a lot to take in," Alice says. "I know." I wipe my brow with the back of my hand. Did I really just accept that I'm a non-human? I laugh, but the sound is hollow. How could I be so stupid? Alice touches my shoulder. "It's okay. I know it's a lot, but you'll get used to it." I'm not sure I want to. "There are more than werewolves, though," she adds. "There are witches, and vampires, and succubi—"

I'm not sure what they're doing, but I assume they're trying to take The remote from Kaelynn. "DARYL'S SOUL HAS ALREADY LEFT! RUNO, HAVE MERCY ON US!!" Danrious said, and I think he is correct, that my soul will undoubtedly slip out of my body if we continue watching season two of that d*mn movie. "You guys are overacting. They're just cannibals, it's just a survival movie," Kaelynn said, and I saw Danrious pulling his hair and rolling on the floor like a child throwing a tantrum.
