I grabbed a match from the mantle and struck it. “What are you doing?” Silas roared, lunging for me. I dropped the match. The gilt-edged pages, soaked in the dry rot of twenty years, caught instantly. The secrets of the Ares empire—the murders, the bribes, the “Conditioning”—erupted into a wall of orange flame. “I’m clearing the site,” I said. Silas tackled me, the weight of him slamming me into the mahogany desk. We hit the floor, a tangle of limbs and fury. I felt the detonator fly from his hand, skidding across the floor toward the vault.

“It was supposed to be the other way around.” She smiled back. “You saved me, too,” she said. But before the two of them could collect themselves, suddenly, there was another crash. They turned to see, in the far corner of the church, several more windows get shattered. She could not believe it. Who could it be now? In flew Kyle, Sergei, and Kendra. The three of them spread throughout the air, each holding unusual weapons, and flying right for them. At the same time, the huge doors opened from the rear of the church, and in poured hundreds of new vampires, all clearly loyal to Kyle.

“I just thought we’re in a horror movie. Haha, don’t be assuming. “ Then he put me down and took the suitcase from behind me. We could also hear the voices and footsteps of the nuns coming into the room. Bye, Sean.
