"When your mate remembers..." The vision shattered. I collapsed. Strong hands caught me. "Kellina!" Gorm's voice sounded distant. I blinked. The mountain returned. The wind. The trees. The symbol. "What happened?" I struggled to sit. "I saw..." I swallowed hard. "The first Crimson Priestess." Gorm stared. "What?" "I think..." I looked back toward the carving. "I think this mountain is hiding something." Rogan's POV Pain. Always pain. My head pounded so violently I could barely see.

Dad grabbed the nurse, throwing her out of the room alongside himself. "Well-done, Emily, you have accomplished your mission." A sinister scent emerged, a wicked laugh echoing across the room. The once blue sky was now a mixture of black and white with the moon reflecting its radiant image. Wails filled the air as a ray of light fell from the sky, hitting a mountain on the other side of town. I groaned, wincing as my hand was scorched by the flaming book. The pages settled, words in red appearing on the pages. "Strigoi, Nosferatu, Jiangshi…"

The realization struck him like another truck. His hands shook as he grabbed the journal. Inside, elegant handwriting filled the pages. The date at the top read: Spring, Year 312. Adrian stared. Then stared again. The main story began in Year 327. Which meant— "I'm fifteen years before the plot starts." His heartbeat thundered. Everything was still ahead. None of it had happened yet. He remembered the ending. The villain, the man whose fate had angered him enough to die. Cassian Nyx.

He doesn’t wait for a reply and walks off. Zylith comes over to me taking my shaking hands into her steady ones. “Are you okay?” I quickly nod yes, “He scares me, I didn’t feel this scare with Cain and his people.” Zylith gives me a soft smile. We go to the study after putting on our shoes and a jacket. Alucard is standing with a book in hand but doesn’t glance up, he already knew we were coming. He closes the book with a loud echo and with the wave of his hand he lights up the fireplace. I try not to show my obvious fear and wonder at it.

Four seedy men sat in plastic chairs before it, seemingly oblivious to the cold, grinning at her as if she were their next meal. “Come over here, baby!” yelled another. She remembered. 132nd street. That’s it. She quickly turned and walked at a brisk pace down another side street. She checked over her shoulder a few times to see if those men were following her. Luckily, they weren’t. The cold wind stung her cheeks and woke her up, as the harsh reality of her new neighborhood started to sink in. She looked around at the abandoned cars, the graffitied walls, the barbed-wire, the bars on all the windows, and she suddenly felt very alone. And very afraid.

Is the code name 1712 hard to hear, or should I call the system Alux next time? "What the master says, the system will listen."
