I was just showing off by helping a poor scholarship student whose parents couldn’t afford to buy her books. However, that singular gesture kept me in her good graces and now I’ve found a friend in her. I know better now, I am becoming a better person. My elitist mindset blinded me from what true friendship could look like without looking down on others or wearing the latest fashion trend to show off to your so-called friends.
