We had this moment. And that was enough.

Evelina pulled a book out of her bag that she borrowed earlier in the school library. BAM!!! The thumping sound of the book she put on her desk, sounded very loud because the book was quite heavy and thick. Evelina checks the book and she realizes that she borrowed so much. She didn’t expect that the books borrowed by her were enough. So, no wonder Rissa commented on this morning. “Let’s see what books I just borrowed ...,” murmured while sorting out the book. “There’s a Sherlock Holmes novel, Her Last Word, A Time Return, ... and finally you’re my butterfly?”

*** When I woke up, Johan was sitting on the edge of the bed, shirtless and smoking. He heard me move and looked back. A check landed on the bed in front of me. I stared at it. He only said a few words. "I'm bored with you." Something inside me cracked. Like porcelain shattering, sharp pieces cut across my heart. Still, my voice came out calm. I even smiled. "I've got less than three months left. Couldn't you wait a little longer?" Johan frowned. "Yara Yelton, you should know your place."

Instead, he took the opportunity to escape. Hannah crawled over to me. She checked my breathing. There was none. Hannah looked up. Once again, she saw that strange clock on the wall. She struggled to stand. She reached for the clock again. Time began rewinding. This time, she returned to the moment when I had just suggested going to find her. "Don't come! Please don't come looking for me! "Evan, listen to me. If you come here, you'll die on the 21st of March."

For one reckless second, I lose myself in the moment. Then the door swings open.

This is that moment. The chapter opens in quiet clarity. The sun is low in the sky, casting long, golden light across familiar spaces. A gentle breeze moves through the rooms we have inhabited together, carrying with it the sense of time, the weight of memory, and the subtle promise of all that remains possible.
