"Wuihh can kill me if hit by that attack." I'm so thankful I was able to escape. His name is Elraw, with much higher physical strength than Uncle Bob but slower speed. The Wyverns that were still flying, I used as footholds to better see the city of Lamris and also to cover the direction I teleported to.

He opened his eyes slowly to see me. He stared at me with a furrowed brow, he groaned in pain. He was going through pain. "I apologize for coming here unannounced," I said and he sighed. "I'm Nova Frost, the daughter of Denzel Frost the Alpha of the Snowcap pack who died seven years ago," His eyes widened in shock when I said that. I understand that he was surprised to see Denzel's daughter in his palace. Not just his palace but his room. "Denzel's daughter?" He muttered and I nodded. "How did you get here?" He managed to ask.

He hung up the call and I pulled my knees to my body, sitting against a rock, trying to keep warm and awake as the drizzle intensified and turned to rain, rustling the leaves above me. I must have drifted into sleep because the next thing I knew a cold wolf's nose was poking my cheek. I gasped in shock, practically falling over, and then remembered that it was probably Tyce. He was a huge wolf—bigger than my dad in his wolf form. I couldn't make out what color his fur was except that it was dark, reminding me of a grizzly bear. His amber eyes were more vibrant than usual, glowing, staring into mine. I assumed it must have been his night vision that made them appear that way.

Frost spun at Daimon’s cry, catching sight of him crumpled on the ground. One of the rogues sank its teeth into Frost’s arm, but he barely flinched. With a snarl, Frost seized the wolf by the throat and hurled it away like it was nothing. The rogue that had tried to ambush Andriel from behind lunged again, but Frost was ready. He caught it mid-attack, snapping its neck with a swift, brutal twist.

The creature howled, its body shattering into smoke and shards of light that scattered through the trees. The others followed, dissolving into mist and silence. And then there was only her, kneeling in the wreckage of the storm, surrounded by swaying, broken trees. Her breath came in gasps. The wind calmed around her, slow and reverent, as if bowing to its master. The mark of her strain burned faintly onto her wrist, a sigil of Wyverndale, glowing silver-blue, the color of stormlight. Somewhere, distant voices echoed through the fog, Nyx Thorneveil’s, faint but clear:

I downed it in a few gulps. After a few minutes I felt dizzy and like I was drunk. I realised my gut was correct and there was something in the water. I laid my head down and before I knew it my eyes were closing. I woke up to the feeling of a heavy weight on my chest. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, the room was dark, only the moonlight shining through the window. I waited for my eyes to adjust but I struggled. I tried to move my arms to find them tied to something. I began to squirm but still felt dizzy and woozy. I felt cold, colder than before. The realisation fell over me, my clothes were gone. I tried to fight but my body was weak. I was still fighting the effects of whatever drug was

With a single, brutal swipe of its massive paw, it tore through the restraints that bound him. Frost staggered forward. For a single breath, he stood there in human form–blood streaking his face where Vera had slashed him, chest heaving, and eyes blazing. Then the moon crested, its silver light spilling over the clearing. Frost threw his head back and howled. His body convulsed and a fur burst across his skin. Then his spine straightened, muscles thickening and twisting beneath tearing fabric. His fingers fused into perfect claws, his jaw extending into a powerful muzzle.

Deep down, I knew where this was going, but I wasn’t ready to accept it. Suddenly, the door opened. A tall figure stepped in, and I looked up to see him. He looked exactly like he did in the photos, this time even better. Handsome didn’t even begin to cover it. He stood around 6’5”, with a model’s physique and an effortlessly sharp presence. Dark blue eyes, a chiseled jawline, a well groomed beard… He looked like a Norse god. Like the actor who played Loki in Vikings, only far more captivating.
