He was supposed to deliver an insulting, witty burn and not plead for mercy. He even said please.

Her eyes widened when she saw the long and thick fur of the monster she had only just seen. “W-What is this?” her trembling lips uttered. Jelca lifted her stare. Now she was able to see the face of the monster. It had blue eyes that were both angry and manipulative; fangs as sharp as if they had just been sharpened; a large face and a long nose that blows warm air, but is scary. “Owoooooooooh!” howled the monster while it was lifting his gaze to the full moon. “G-God, s-save me!” she prayed.

________Some minutes earlier… Stephen and Jessica stood at their spot as they waited for the blue moon to come. The moon began turning blue bit by bit, and suddenly it was fully blue!! Every human who saw the moon were amazed, little did they know that it was a bad sign for others… The blue moon shone brightly, and it began burning the werewolf and vampires. Stephen and Jessica directed their palms, where the mark was, towards the moon and the light of the blue moon shone to their direction as they absorbed the ray in their palm. “Aah!! It burns” Jessica said in tears…

So there was no way the next Blue Team member would be able to deal with Orange Monk. Soon, the next Blue Team member walked to the centre of the stadium. He was a handsome man, just like Blue Mantis. But he was slightly taller than Blue Mantis and had a stocky build. “The next representative for the Blue Team, the powerful Strength Type Thrasher, Musclehead, is here!” Peter shouted loudly. The crowd quickly erupted into cheers as they tried to encourage Musclehead. Although they knew that Musclehead was weaker than Orange Monk, they were hoping for a miracle.

It was from an old series that had been popular two years back. “I spotted this blind box while passing a shop. Weren’t you into this kind of thing?” Ben’s tone was offhand. I stared at the plushie. He remembered it wrong. Mikayla was the one with a thing for blind boxes. Two years ago, Mikayla bought an entire case of blind boxes, desperate to get the hidden edition. She dumped the plushies all over the floor once she was done. I was simply there to pick up after her. Ben took it that I loved the plushies.

I adjust the lens and focus on the pair. One is a woman with long dark hair walking a few steps ahead of a boy who is carrying two boxes so big, he can barely see over top of them. The woman laughs when the boy stops, puts the boxes down, and blows his hair out of his eyes. His hair is as black as hers and cut close to his head except for the top, which is long enough that it falls into his eyes. I've never seen eyes that color before. They're the most beautiful turquoise, bright, like the sparkling water of the ocean at my favorite beach in Cancun. With his tanned face and dark hair, they're striking.
