It was as smooth as honey, but you could tell that it held a power that was unimaginable. Selena could feel some form of fear, but she felt safe nevertheless. She released a shaky breath and then said, “You’re…you’re her. You’re the Moon goddess, aren’t you?” The goddess chuckled freely. “I am,” She replied. “I am the one whom you have told everyone you don’t believe in.”

The door slamming in the distance snapped me from my restless slumber, snapping my head up, I caught a glimmer in the distance as they approached me. The knife glaring in the man’s hand was easy to identify once he was close enough and even though his face remained concealed the tattoo wrapped around his wrist was clearly visible. The eight phases of the moon. A symbol of enlightenment and darkness, immortality and eternity. It was beautiful, nature’s very own yin-yang. “Good Afternoon, Goddess Selene.” Dark greeted me with a sinister smirk on his face, to which I responded with a flat look.

You guys are the absolute best. Thank you for being with me on this wonderful journey despite my flaws, less-than-perfect writing, and grammatical errors. The full moon shone brightly in the night sky, casting a mesmerizing silvery glow across the land. Alpha Galan, stood at the edge of a cliff, his keen eyes fixed on the radiant lunar sphere. It was on this sacred night that he could call upon Selene, the moon goddess, his mother, and the divine being who bestowed him with his extraordinary abilities. As the moonlight reached its peak, a celestial aura enveloped Alpha Galan, and he felt a surge of power coursing through his veins. He raised his arms to the heavens, calling out to his mother, the moon goddess, with a melodic incantation passed down through generations:

“Tristan, my sweet boy, your mother and father loved you so much. Your parents, myself, Alpha Jack, and Gamma Blake all agreed to this from the day your sister was born.” “Little moon,” I heard Braxton say softly. We all turned to him, and I saw a sweet smile spread across Luna Maria’s face. “Yes, she is our little moon, gifted from the moon goddess herself.” She reached over and grabbed Braxton’s hand while she looked deeply into his eyes, “You have a very important role to play in her life.” She then took her hand back and looked over all three of us, “All three of you have important rolls to play.”

I asked him in my sweet and innocent voice. “The prophecy talks of Selene, and how she will provide us with a Triple Goddess, and how that Goddess will have to choose between two Mates. One good, and one bad” Galterio spoke as he looked deeply into my eyes, like he was trying to hypnotise me or something. I wanted to look away from his intense stare, but I knew that if I do, he could see it as rejection. I need him to believe I am all in with him, and him alone. “Two Mates?” I said dumbly.

I nodded my head again only to correct myself and whisper a soft, “yes.” “Good little bunny.” His hand rubbed the top of my head, making me smile brightly as his teeth glistened in the red sun. Clearing his throat, he pointed to the moon that hung on the opposite side of the sky. “Selene is who you saw. She is the Moon Goddess, that is why she has a moon crescent on her forehead.” My eyes trailed to the blue moon, cocking my head to the side in wonder.

Tristan spoke up. "The goddess of the half moon," Trevor said. They were already away from the curtains, and the statue was already out of sight. Luna pulled back her head and glanced at them. "Half-moon? I thought there was only one moon goddess." Alexa grunted. "You know nothing about Lunar Crest; how are we sure you are not an imposter?" Trevor ignored her. "There are two goddesses of the moon." Adrian chimed. "There are two goddesses of the moon, Altamira and Lunar. Lunar is the head of the moon, and she birthed the Lunar Crest."

Her hands are small and delicate as she does and she's got a very small frown on her face as she concentrates. "There we go. Awl done" she steps away happily as she admires her handiwork. "You wook beawutiful" "Thank you" I say. "What's your name?" "Selene" I blink in surprise by her name. I recognise the name from werewolf history. The Moon Goddess has many names, from many different forms. Artemis is a well-known Greek name, Luna is another. Selene was the name before Artemis, the Goddess of the full and new moon. Her parents must be very spiritual to name their daughter after the Moon Goddess.

She can’t bleed out on the floor of his room like an unwanted thing. Her legs barely support her as she stumbles toward the door. Her vision swims. Her heart feels like it’s being crushed inside her chest. The sounds of music float up from downstairs — laughter, clinking glasses, soft murmurs of alliances being formed under the watchful eyes of the full moon. The Moon Gala. Every year, under the brightest full moon, the Gala brings together packs from across the lands. Grand feasts, formal dances, secret negotiations... smiles masking rivalries, alliances sealed with toasts.
