The Alpha's Secretary Mate

The Alpha's Secretary Mate

The laboratory chamber at the bottom of the concrete stairs didn't just look large; it looked like a massive, underground factory for a shadow war. Row after row of tall glass vats lined the walls, glowing with a sickly, artificial gold light that pulsed in time with the deep vibration coming from the floorboards. Inside the liquid of those vats, I could see the dark, heavy shapes of more prototypes—men engineered to be completely numb to a true wolf's soul. "They're active, Silas," I whispered, my fingers flying across the ruggedized tablet as I tapped into the local network. "The main system shows these units are already at ninety percent incubation. Hecate wasn't trying to scare us; she w

The Unspoken Accord

The Unspoken Accord

It led not up, but down, deep into the building’s bowels. The lower level was a revelation. It was the building’s skeleton, damp concrete, snaking pipes, the groan of distant machinery, but it had been modified. New conduits ran along the ceiling. Small cameras, their red LEDs like watching insect eyes, tracked their progress from corners. As they moved down a narrow corridor, a calm, digital voice issued from a hidden speaker. “Variable pair demonstrates cohesive movement. Stress response elevated. Proceed to evaluation chamber one.” They were rats in a maze, and the scientist was narrating their run.

The Ceo's Billion Dollar Mistress

The Ceo's Billion Dollar Mistress

"What's happening down there?" "Um, um!" Henry stuttered. "Rats!" Jack said, and Henry shot him a surprised look. "There are rats in the lab! Lots of them." "Rats?" Mr. Richard said, sounding alarmed. Jack and Henry nodded. "Yes, dad," said Henry. "God knows I can't stand rats!" Mr. Richard said, entering his office as one of his guards opened the door for him. "Now's your chance to run!" Jack whispered. "Dude, find out why he's here!" Henry whispered back and headed for the lab.

She Ditched Her Scumbag Husband After Her Amnesia

She Ditched Her Scumbag Husband After Her Amnesia

He had a flashback to these two lab rats. They were the ones Helma had scratched off the roster. Officially, they were goners. Reality painted a different picture; these two were in tip-top shape, taking to the meds like ducks to water. They had not shown any signs of kicking up a fuss during the trials, and the Glacier toxin was on the down low. After they got the axe from the list, they were stashed away in a top-secret lab upstairs. Back then, Leon did not get Helma's game plan and did not pry.

They also explode, so if any of us break the rules or step out of line then all it will take is the push of a button and we’re taking permanent cat naps. Once the men have completed their task of chipping us all like animals, they leave and the party resumes. I often wonder if we should be studied by professionals. We’re all gathered in this room, laughing and drinking and conversing as we, in perfection symbiosis, promote the illusion that we are here by choice and are having a wonderful time. What we are, are lab rats in a maze and tomorrow we will each have to begin the long, arduous process of fighting each other to the death to make it to the end of that maze. We don’t even get a nice p

This was my favorite book from this author. It was so entertaining from start to finish, and was incredibly well written. I don't normally read this genre, but knew it would be good, as all her work is amazing. It exceeded my expectations. I am hooked and can't wait for the next book in the series!

The Midnight Alpha

The Midnight Alpha

He hit the mat hard, his vision swimming with grey spots. "Get up. You’re a Sun-Omega. Act like it." "F**k your titles," Samuel wheezed, rolling onto his side. He pushed himself up, his muscles screaming. The lab files from the night before were still burned into his brain. Subject 07. A manufactured miracle. "I’m a lab rat in a silk robe, Nathan. We both know it."

YOUR EYES ARE MINE

She pondered. A tiny rat circles the bucket of food. It jumps to the top of the bucket and fails, but continues to try until it reaches the top. Lara's hand falls over the poor rat once she reaches the top. "You filthy little rat! Do you want me to consume you? " She snarls and hurls the rat against the wall, and it limps to the small hole beneath the door. Lara crawls to follow the rat's trails and digs a small hole to make it bigger. She visualizes herself as a rat crawling beneath the door.

What Nobody Sees

— No… I don't know what it consists of. — Okay, then I'll tell you. — Taking time to answer someone in this condition makes her more nervous and fearful than she already is, so I do it. Both physical and mental torture will always be my games — The game consists of breaking all the bones in the limbs of a rat, avoiding killing it. Once completed, the rat is tied to a wheel which is spun until it causes its death. — If I do it right… can I leave? — she asks scared. — Of course. — I give her a gentle smile, which seems to calm her a bit.

Her Bloom Isn’t Red Anymore

Her Bloom Isn’t Red Anymore

Chapter 9: Subject Zero Escapes and Consumes Chaos Unleashed Instantly The lab was silent, sterile, humming with vibration that seemed older than the building itself. Fluorescent lights flickered, throwing jagged shadows across coiled cables that lay like snakes across the floor. Metal benches gleamed coldly, screens reflecting back, faint green glow of data lines twisting faster than anyone can comprehended. Dr. Harrow and Ramirez were the only humans present, though neither could relax. Every monitor pulsed with erratic patterns, digital echoes of bodies that didn’t exist.
