She insisted no matter how much I told her I wasn’t an expert in any games, seeing as I had never played them before, but yet she insisted, pulling me over to another game where metal targets would drop when you hit them.
My eyes bulged out of their socket. “Ah, no way,” I said, trying to laugh it off while shaking my head. “I can’t do this. You know I’m terrible at games, especially ones like this.”
“Please!” Veronica wasn’t taking no for an answer. She playfully nudged my shoulders, her eyes big and pleading. “Please.”
I groaned, finally relenting to her plea. I picked up one of the softballs, feeling the weird smooth surface of the material in my hands.
