Dante Falcone stood on the other side, his wounded arm in a sling, a cigar clamped between his teeth. Behind him, a dozen armed men. Behind them, a large fighting pit where dogs tore into each other, blood spraying across the concrete.
“Took you long enough,” Dante said, smiling like a shark. “I was starting to think you didn’t love me anymore, little brother’s whore.”
His eyes slid to Lily, and the smile sharpened into something cruel. “And you brought the little killer. Perfect. My men have been placing bets on how long she’d last in the pit.”
