Perhaps when we’re back in New York after three weeks of being in Europe, I’ll have built up some sort of immunity to Jameson Richards, so that I can be in his presence without going up in flames.
Today is not that day.
I pull in a deep breath. Reach for a chunk of baguette and then the spreader for the butter.
“No,” he merely whispers. And shakes his head.
His gaze falls on the terrine.
My brow crooks. “I’m really going to eat that? Isn’t it, like, highly controversial?”
“Somewhat controversial,” he reluctantly concurs. “But then… Do you know how mass quantities of rotisserie chickens are made? As in, how those whole chickens meet their personal fate, in order to make it onto your plate?”
