The prison cell was surprisingly comfortable.
Gloria Martinez had made sure of that. The space was more like a small studio apartment than a cell. It had actual furniture, decent lighting, a shelf of books, and enough privacy that Gabriel could visit without the usual prison protocol.
Gabriel sat on his sister's bed, painting her nails carefully.
"I hate it here," Gloria whined. "The food is disgusting, the guards are incompetent, and I'm tired. When do I get out of here, Gabriel?"
