Everly’s POV The Goddess was right. I needed Avril to be here. She and I were connected in some way. We were both given a curse just so the Pantheon could give us some of their power. I had thought I was the only one. But my wolf’s sister was here in the flesh. My wolf was spinning around. “We are gemstone wolves.” I explain to Avril. “The Goddess choses to give us gifts, but every gift must come with a price. For you, you can see visions, but you’re blind.”

Maxiana The pebble-like gem’s glisten in the starlight, like always. I sit on the beach where still, star filled water reflects… nothing. It’s so quiet today. I’ve seen no more doors, nor had more visions, for Goddess knows how long. I toss a gem into the water where it bounces, creating little ripples that stretch the stars reflected on its surface. I grab a handful and lean forward, letting the gems fall between my fingers, creating little waves in the otherwise smooth-as-glass liquid. My reflection is shadowed, nothing more than a halo of starlight around my face and head.

"But there's something else you should know. About what happens when both bloods fully merge." Lucian doesn't want to hear it. But he needs to. "Tell me," Lucian says. Jasper sets the journal aside. Walks to a locked chest in the corner. Opens it with a key from around his neck. Inside, wrapped in oiled cloth, lies a mirror. Not silver like Thane's. This one looks like black glass. Obsidian, polished to impossible smoothness. "Vampire glass," Jasper says. "Shows truth that normal mirrors hide. My father used it to track his own deterioration."

The gate was open. In the center of the courtyard stood a massive mirror. It was ten feet tall, framed in jagged black obsidian. It shouldn't have been there. It looked like it had grown out of the cobblestones. The surface of the glass wasn't reflecting the courtyard; it was a swirling vortex of violet and grey. "The Mirror of Souls," Hala’s voice drifted from the ranks. She pushed her way forward, her staff trembling. "It’s a Coven relic. Selene has left us a parting gift."

The wolves exchanged uneasy glances, then followed. At the far end, the great mirror—the one that had hung above the council dais for generations—had cracked down the center. Its surface shimmered faintly, catching reflections that didn’t belong. In it, Kaelen’s image wavered and multiplied, shifting in and out of focus. He reached out, fingertips brushing the cold glass. The reflection flinched back—then steadied, staring at him with eyes that glowed faintly silver. Mireya swore under her breath. “Kaelen—”

For the first time, the shadows on the walls moved against the light instead of with it — slow, deliberate, like listening. Corren didn’t notice. He leaned closer to the basin, eyes narrowing. “She moves north.” Lysia’s smile sharpened. “Then our moment has come.” From beneath the table, she withdrew a small coffer — polished black wood inlaid with crescent silver. She opened it, revealing a fragment of crystal no larger than a fingertip. It pulsed faintly red. “The mirror shard,” she said. “The same used when Veylan was cast down. It still remembers him.”

I didn't know what to do so I could help and still ended up nothing. I started panicking yet they couldn't see that cause they were busy taking care of Rider. I just wanted that the ground would open and eat me alive yet that was ridiculous. I take a deep breath to try to calm my nerves when I turn around and see that there was a mirror there. I saw my face, it was pale in fear. I can't even see a red tint in my cheeks, a sign that I still have blood. I think it was draining in too much fear. The entire room was like a small apartment, she thought then she gasped and facepalmed upon remembering that she's actually in an apartment complex. She saw that there was a door beside the wall wardrobe, about a few inches away from it. She sauntered to it, curious what lies behind the mysterious door and she squinted her eyes, lifting her free arm to cover them because of the gloriously gleaming treasures hidden behind the door. It was a bathroom, a dignifiedly neat one, with marble-like restroom fittings and fixtures. "It's Jemma!" Jay fanned the smoke that blocked the view. "He's teleporting us to his place," Ruby chuckled. The couple gaped in front of a giant mirror. Ruby's mouth opened slightly at the sight of the snake woman slithering inside. Jemma's wide smile displayed teeth that were rock-shaped and pointed with their tips pointing downwards. Similar to the stalactites in Arima Cave, where Ruby was currently. Stone pillars connect the glass and make it look like an aquarium. It was dark and damp. The walls were solid stone engraved with sea ornaments.

"There were mirrors inlaid with gems and diamonds everywhere, and they were all reflecting the light, so it was a dazzling scene!" D*mn... Are you guys trying to show off your wealth? Rainie said as she took a step forward before Thomas pulled her back. What's wrong? "Follow me, and don't wander around in this area." Thomas's tone was a little serious.
