Milli lied to herself and rubbed the tears that she refused to let fall out of her eyes. She eased herself down in a chair and stared at the gingerbread nativity on the desk. She tried not to think about what it meant every time the monitor beeped, as long as it stopped beeping, it was fine. It would be fine. For the rest of the week, ‘it’s fine’ became Milli’s mantra. Two words she lived and breathed by as her heart begged for healing for Charlie. She was a good person and had suffered enough. It was her turn to be blessed and it was Christmas, a time for miracles.

I trip on the stairs and he pulls my hair and drags me up the stairs by it. The world is all white noise, an empty silence on a faded background. In the movies they use green screens to create a better world around them, and create an illusion to trick the mind. On my green screen, I'm with Arlo at the beach. “Our lives just keep getting weirder.” “Weirder but better,” I said. “Every time we choose mercy over punishment, growth over vengeance, we make the multiverse a little better.” “Is that enough?” Mira asked. “We keep having crises. Keep facing enemies. Keep barely surviving. When does it get easier?”

Diana excitedly broke out the news which to her was a good one; that she has found out their father, and to even the score, he is the president generals step brother and it explains why they have a resemblance with the president general.... It is magic the way their bodies work. They grow old with time. And then they die." He added in an excited tone. He had this excited look on his face. Of course that story was definitely amazing.
